But don’t misunderstand me. I don’t mean that we can’t BE firemen, bankers, or doctors— but that we must make the goal conform to the individual, rather than make the individual conform to the goal. In every man, heredity and environment have combined to produce a creature of certain abilities and desires— including a deeply ingrained need to function in such a...

Hey there. First off, I am really sorry that you are so upset and unhappy with the site. I know how frustrating it can be as a user and as someone that helps maintain the entire thing. I’d like to address some of the things you mentioned so that hopefully you know you’re being heard. 1. the “down for maintenance” bullshit is us deploying changes to the site (i.e., fixing bugs). Anytime you see this, it is us trying to make a fix. Our deployments take a bit of time, anywhere from 3-7 minutes depending on what we are doing, but they are always done during low-traffic hours of the day. This seems to be when you are using it, so I apologize that the schedule is not working out for you. There is no way we can please everyone here. 2. The 502 Bad Gateway does NOT happen that often. It happened yesterday morning and is a rare, rare instance. What you saw was due to the site receiving over 10,000 requests to the front page per minute. We upped our workers and the issue was taken care of in less than 10 minutes from the time I noticed it. 3. I am not familiar with the “Leave Group and still receive updates” bug. This is the first I’ve heard of it, so there’s no way we could have ever looked in to fixing that. 4. Asking our paying customers to identify bugs? We have a thread in the main Group and a Customer Service email and phone number. All three are places for users to report bugs. As someone who has worked in IT developer for years, I’m sure you more than anyone can understand that to help users we need as much information as possible. So, if you tell me that you left a group and are still receiving updates I need to know the following: what group, what browser, what os, if you clear your cache does this solve the issue (feed is cached). Without this information, there is no way for me to help our team identify the problem. You would be asked the same questions if you called in to ANY company for help on a product/service/etc. Are there bugs? YES. A fucking ton of them. Are we cheap? No, I don't think so. Are we unprofessional? This one actually hurts. I have to disagree strongly with this. I think we handle every question and comment with respect and care. I know the site is not as big and complex as some of the projects you have worked on, but we have an incredibly small staff. We do our best. Again, I am sorry you are having a bad experience. I would be happy to refund your last month. Please let me know.
