So I moved house! It's finally happened! Home ownership has been such a huge goal for me for so many years now. I've been working steadily towards it for so so long. And, although I'll be paying off this mortgage for a very very long time, I can finally say I own my home. Not that it doesn't have it's downsides. The day after I moved in, the plumbing exploded (water supply, not sewer, thank goodness) and I had to get that sorted out. No water overnight because every time the mains was turned on, liters and liters would go running down the street. But that's fixed (for now). It's also a bit of a step down in quality. No insulation, no heating (other than a fireplace) and no way to cool the place. Which is a big issue in Australia, as I'm sure you can guess. It's fine though. There are so many advantages! I can do stuff like have cats without having to hide them from real estate agent inspections, I can paint walls, heck, I can pull walls out if I want. I can even HANG UP PICTURES without getting stung for holes in the walls when I move back out again. In my last rental, I had to fill out an application form to have pictures up. Yep. And I love art. I have it tattooed all over myself, too. Haha.
Here's me working on the house. The windows were painted shut by the previous owners, which is a bit silly. But I've got it so that most of them can open now, which is good. Because, yeah. No cooling and summer isn't far off.
I haven't broken any of the window panes yet, either. Small victories.
I know I haven't had a chance to blog about the SG Australia Ball in Melbourne last month, and I'll get around to it, I will. But for the moment it's got to wait. All the photos are on my laptop and my laptop is getting repaired. Or at least, I hope they repair it! Every time I turn the damn thing on, the disk goes to 100% and I can't do anything. I've gone through and carefully made sure none of the programs are maxing it out, but there's basically nothing running on startup. Sometimes I have to wait like an hour for the stupid thing to calm down enough for me to open up my work. So for the moment, I'm on ye olde MacBook Pro from 2010 (my backup machine). I feel like I'm using an old triple-shift typewriter! And editing sets from the Melbourne shootfest has been a real effort because of the poor colour calibration and tiny monitor size. Makes me want to get a Mac as my next laptop again, though. Because it's outlived my last three machines. If I ever have money again, that is. :S
@Exkyu and I have had FOUR new sets that we've worked on together come out since I've last blogged. They are all amazing, so feast your eyes.
@DollyD in Sandstone gosh, I had so much fun assisting on this one. And Dolly is so beautiful, it was hard to believe what I was SEEING in front of my own two eyes! Also, she's a fucking riot and we got along like a house on fire. Poor Exkyu. Haha.
@Amaryllis in Love Drunk we shot this one at the Sydney shootfest. I barely had to do anything. Just sit back with the reflector and perve on the supreme hotness before me. Yess.
@Pugsie in Je T'aime the Brisbane shootfest makes one of it's first appearances! Pugsie is a newbie, but she was such a natural in front of the camera and I was in stitches the whole time we were shooting.
@PeggySue in Sex Kitten I have issues communicating the supreme hotness that is PeggySue. The set is aptly named. She is such a sex kitten. Meow.
Please make sure you go check these sets out and leave them likes and comments. We need more Aussies on the front page and dang, I want Exkyu's photography up there too!
As for me, my next set will be out in about three weeks! In a blog soon, I'm going to make a collage of all the possible preview shots and get you all to vote on which one it should be. Until then, here's a little teaser. I'm excited about this one. I'd love to have a FP set again. I haven't had one in a few years, actually.
Talk soon.
xo Tessa.
