Hey guys!
Exciting day, my new set Heliotrope is now in Member Review. Please head over and give it some love! Here are some previews:
I shot this set when I was visiting Adelaide (several months ago now, that queue is SO LONG)! I went for a really minimal theme, I've never done a solo set on a bed before. I hope you all really like it! I also have this set in MR if you haven't seen it already.
I was kinda brief about it in my last blog, because I was in shock, I guess. But yeah. If you're following me on Insta or Twitter, you already know my grandmother passed away a few days ago. She was 86 and quite unwell so it wasn't a sudden thing, but that makes it no less full-on. I've been busy for the last few days helping my mum and grandfather out organising what happens now. A couple of days ago, I put together a slideshow with loads of pictures from her life and unearthed this beautiful one from the late 1940's.
What a babe. She was a pretty cool lady. She loved to gossip more than anyone I think I've ever met in my life so I always had to be super careful not to mention tattoos, boyfriends, etc. She was always socialising, spoke five languages and everyone knew who she was. She could cook like nobody's business. But give her a tax return form to fill out and she'd be lost. I think if social media had existed back then, she'd be one of those people endlessly commenting on pics and following EVERYONE. She helped a lot of my relatives move to Australia and she'd put people up for months at a time. Once, she hosted some extended family members who were refugees that had lost their homes in North Cyprus. There were about 12 people in the house all while my mum was trying to study for her Higher School Certificate exams. My grandmother always said she'd go to heaven because of all the people she'd helped move to a better country. I guess we'll all find out for sure one day.
Anyway, I don't have a whole lot to say for myself because it's pretty much all been funerals and hugging people for me this week. It's been rough. Someone mentioned it was my birthday within a week and I was all confused because I'd completely forgotten. Funny how you just focus on the one important thing going on at any time. I'm surrounded by flowers and consolation cards right now. So much love. I have the best extended family ever.
Here, have a few pics from my Melbourne trip:
Oh, one other thing. Another new set for you to check out! This is @unicorn on a kickass MGB. The set's called Blue Streak. I love it, so happy with how it turned out. Such a cool car, too. Even if it wouldn't start! Please go give it a look-see. Unicorn has been a member on SG for YEARS and totally deserves to go pink. I think SG secretly think so too. They featured her on their Instagram account yesterday (but forgot to tag her! gosh!)
Ok that's it. Be good. x
