I'm feeling a bit listless this morning. I've had a hard couple of nights because I've been dealing with tinnitus (ringing ears) from an inner ear infection and it's driving me NUTS. I feel like I can't focus on anything properly. But I still have to work and be productive. Because other than that, I'm fine, you know? Yesterday I had an initial consultation with a client who wants to renovate her house because it has 'too many windows' and I think I struggled to hide my disdain. But she wants to do a pretty cool set of mods to her house so I guess it's just convincing her that daylight is not the devil. But yeah, I was sitting there with my tea and all the usual things I say to reel the client in just weren't coming out. Just sort of vague positive noises. I'm probably over-analysing it.
I have another meeting today (boo, on a Saturday) which I forgot about. All I want to do is sit and write and look at the internet. And yet, I just HAD a holiday in Melbourne. But it was so intense and full on with shoots and retouching that I actually feel more worn out now than I did before that trip.
I'm getting more work done on my arm soon. I booked it in yesterday. So excited, I've been itching to get more done. It'll be nice to catch up with my artist as well. She and I go way back. It's just a three hour session so I don't know how much we'll get done, hopefully quite a bit. I feel like a bit of colour on there is going to change the whole feel of it. SO yeah, excited.
I saw Guardians of the Galaxy a few nights back. It's awesome. I liked that bit where the whole movie. Basically. Go see it if you like to laugh. Also if you think people would be more awesome if they came in green or bright pink or blue. Because everyone thinks that, right?
Team Australia have some new sets coming up in MR for you guys too! These sets have been in the queue for like 3 or 4 months? The queue is SO long right now. Thank goodness they're finally out. I feel like we've all been waiting AGES. So yes. Go follow these ladies:
@wick_
@ambra
These sets were both shot on the same day in the same park. We had quite a few random people walking past but everyone just sort of keeps to themselves so we didn't get anyone yelling at us or anything. It was really bright and sunny so shooting was difficult, but I'm super happy with the results and excited to see how these sets go!
Speaking of sets, if you haven't already please go leave some love (or hell, go back and leave a second comment) on my new Member Review set. I only need 25 more likes to reach a round number so please go help me out because it's driving me nuts. Does anyone else get like this about numbers? I'm sure I'm not the only one.
Here are a few more Behind the Scenes shots from Melbourne that I've nicked out of @exkyu's blog.
Me and @exkyu shooting @aubreyx. This is basically what I do. Hold a circular reflector at the right angle to bounce light from the window into the model's face. Apparently this is a difficult job. I can tell you it's certainly exhausting.
Checking some photographs to make sure we have everything. I've got a mental list of all the shots we need. There's the 'SFW Instagram Shot', the 'Front Page Portrait Landscape Shot', the 'Orientation shot', the 'Creepy Foot Fetish Photo', the 'PSFB' and loads more.
Generalised chaos. I'm in the outfit I wanted to shoot my own set in, but it got too dark that afternoon and so we had to abandon the task. We lost the memory stick with the few photos we DID take and I'm really bummed about that. This is why you back things up TWICE!
@lizziesky shooting on a ladder. That ladder was a godsend, I kid you not. I can't believe the amazing angles we got because of it. No more shootfests without ladders, dammit.
That's all I have for you this morning. Enjoy your weekends, everyone. I'm going to go get ready for (more) work. Luckily it's not all bad. I'm catching up with @coldie this afternoon! Yay!
