Hey cats! The weather here has been miserable but I'm feeling a lot better today. It's been raining on and off for the last few weeks and temperatures around freezing overnight. I have a little avocado tree growing in my backyard. It grew from a seed from an avocado I ate! It's so lovely, three little leaves standing proud and filled with potential. All I want to do is put something over it so it doesn't get frostbitten, but if it can't survive this winter without protection then it won't survive when it's an adult! So far it seems okay but we're in for a few more cold nights so I suppose time will tell.
Here are my other plans for this winter,
1- Edit my novel.
This one's been a long time coming. I wrote the first draft for it during NaNoWriMo in 2012 and it has sat and stewed in my mind ever since. Now is the time to brush it off and start a good re-write. I've actually edited about half of it, but the latter half is the challenge. There are scenes I skipped over during the first draft that I need to fill in, there's stuff that's just written BADLY. I've honestly improved so so much since I wrote this first draft. I'm feeling confident about getting through it by the end of winter but we will see.
2- Melbourne Shootfest.
I'm going to Melbourne with a bunch of SG people to do a shootfest in the most delightful little cottage. I'm really excited about it and all the amazing people we'll be working with. It's definitely going to be a busy little trip. Speaking of Aussie shoots, I wanted to congratulate @emmameow who is now an SG (she went pink last night) and @lizziesky her photographer! I am so excited to see another Aussie on the front page! Congrats ladies!
3- Finish my half-sleeve tattoo.
I need to get back in touch with my artist and get my ass into gear and DO this. I hate having unfinished work but it's difficult when I have to travel interstate to get more work done on it. Hopefully after the shootfest we can organise a time and get on with it. I also have to figure out what colours I want!
4- Work.
Not super exciting but I have a whole bunch of architectural projects in the pipeline that need my attention. I'm actually starting to worry that I've got a little too much work on my plate. Might have to up the prices I'm charging again if I get many more inquiries. Which can only be a good thing. But the issue is that when I'm charging more, I feel more pressure to blow their minds with every concept I come up with and get all the work done super fast. And I work slow most of the time!
I think those are all my plans (aside from 'keep warm' and 'kiss ladies' and 'watch TV' but those things are always on my list). I'm reading 'Wool' by Hugh Howey at the moment which is pretty good, actually. I'm also really excited for Doctor Who coming back and Community being picked up by Yahoo for a sixth season. Better Yahoo than no one, right?
Also a quick thanks to those of you who went and gave some love to my sister @mouse and her new photoset White Lights. As of right now, she's on 1175 likes (in two days) which is amazing. Just a couple hundred more and she'll be a shoo in for going pink. Imagine that! Two SG's in the one family! If you haven't gone and liked it yet, please make sure you do, we're so close!
I'll leave you now with a pic of the new Tshirt I bought. I reckon probably about three of you will get the reference (maybe less) but it's a sexy pic so no one's going to complain. Have a great week, everyone.
