I've had such a busy week!
First up thank you everyone so so much for commenting and giving lots of love to my set with @christina. If you've missed it, it's right here in Member Review and it has almost 1500 love! Just. A. Little. More. Please. Ugh! I am super happy with how it's going, hopefully we can get it onto the front page soon. Your support means so much to me.
Meanwhile, I was down in Sydney for Easter long weekend and had all kinds of adventures.
Yay tattoo! My half sleeve is coming along. A lot of it hadn't healed very well so it was mostly touch-up's this week. Charlie is a saint and if you want a tattoo and live in Sydney, please go check her out. Athena's shield is also half-shaded now which is looking kickass. With my back tattoo, I found that it took a lot of time for me to warm up to it. This one, on the other hand, I have had a strong connection to right from the get-go. Still haven't had a chance to attack it with markers in order to see what colours it should be. I might get someone to trace a copy right off my arm so I have it on paper. Then I can just use pencils. I kind of want it to look a bit like Rigel's sleeves. I guess we'll see what happens. I am such a control freak when it comes to ink. Everything's got to be perfect. Funny that.
@exkyu and I shot some new girls while we were in Sydney as well! Two in one day. And both are now already in the Member Review queue. Because I am super speedy when it comes to post-production on photosets. I just get into this zone and suddenly everything is done.
And I got a new laptop! This one! Asus N550J Notebook. No wonder I've been whizzing through the photoshopping and post production on all these sets. The old macbook pro just wasn't up to the challenge. It's so nice having something higher specced so I'm not sitting there waiting for shit to render. That kills me. Also if you haven't seen it, I've posted a tutorial over on SG Photographer Hopefuls about how I do post-production for photosets on Adobe Bridge. Let me know what YOU do! And by the way, if you're not using Bridge and shooting in raw, you're seriously just making more work for yourself.
So here are some Insta snaps and some previews...
@exkyu with @ohwhatsername (that's actually her username)
And here's a preview of the set. We shot it on a bush path, it turned out so good. I'm really excited about it. We were actually going to walk up to another spot, but I'm glad we just stopped here and did the shoot. There was only one dude that walked past while we were shooting. Once he was gone and we were about to resume shooting I was like 'welcome to Suicidegirls'. It's like a rite of passage isn't it. Being caught starkers by some bushwalker or random passerby. Anyway, she did great. Props to Vorpal for recruiting her!
@exkyu shooting @wick_ up on some concrete fortifications by the port. I am so keen on this set. It looks like it could have been shot in Greece or something. Scrubby, rocky coastline, a big concrete structure and freight ships passing by. I'm sure the dudes got an eyeful, but they've been out at sea for months so it's probably a nice 'welcome to Australia' for them. Here's a preview:
Waa waa WEE waa!
Fuck these blogs make me sound like I've got an exciting and glamorous life sometimes. Rest assured I spent most of the rest of my time in Sydney watching Community with my Mum and Dad (legends) and blowing my nose.
More fun with filters. I took this just the other day. It's been the only selfie I've done in ages because I have been so so sick. Luckily I'm just coughing now, but it was pretty ugly there for a while. If anyone is wondering where I get these ridiculous filters from, it's an app for iPhone called 'cunpic' if you occasionally see people tagging shit with #cunlife on Instagram, rest assured they're using this app to give themselves perfect complexions. It's insane.
I went out, got drunk and lay down on the back seat of a bus all the way home. I am just too cool for school. It had to happen eventually I suppose.
I spent all of yesterday on this website going through the first three chapters of my novel. It points out where you've used really long sentences that are difficult to follow. It also points out where you've used passive or too many adverbs. Which means I finally know what adverbs and the passive tense are! It only took that program hitting me over the head with green and blue highlighter to hammer it all in. Look at me not mixing metaphors and everything. I AM a real writer! :P
Suicidegirls Australia have an Instagram account now. You should add it and stuff. The userpic is @peggysue who's set hit the front page last night. Congrats miss! Also a happy birthday to @puffin and @beaeffeff love you girls. And some late birthday love to @christin too. Thanks for the lovely night out and all the bubbly wine. Nomnomnom.
That's all I have for now. x
