What an incredible weekend!!
This is me at the end of last night. Exhausted, still with tape over my nipples, a new tattoo and a big smile on my face. What an adventure!! For those of you who have been living under a rock, Blackheart Burlesque is doing it's Australian tour! If you haven't seen them yet, the Perth and Wollongong shows still have tickets available so head over to blackheartburlesque.com and do the thing.
I spent Friday getting tattooed by Charlie (charlietappertattoo.com). I sat for about 4 hours and got the outlining done for my goddess Athena half-sleeve. It was amazing catching up with her and I met Max Chater as well which was pretty awesome! Charlie had a new tattoo done by the rather famous Lyle Tuttle (when he visited the Sydney Tattoo Expo a few weeks back) and while she was working on me a Sailor Jerry brand blackboard jumped off the wall and knocked over half the stuff on the table! According to Max, Sailor Jerry HATED Lyle Tuttle (and Lyle hated Sailor Jerry) and at that moment when the blackboard fell, the Lyle tattoo on Charlie was pointed right at it. It gave me goosebumps. We subsequently blamed Sailor Jerry for a few mishaps that afternoon. Haha.
Here's a better picture of the tattoo so far,
It's rather art nouveau, I love it. I am going to have to figure out how to colour it. I want it really bright and vibrant but in keeping with the nouveau style so it doesn't date as time goes by. Maybe once the scabbing is done I'll get the textas ("markers") out and try some stuff on for size.
Ok then Blackheart Burlesque happened in Sydney! I was way too shy to be involved directly but I managed to get a spot right up the front with the rest of the gang from SG Australia and we screamed our asses off. I later found out that the crowd at the Sydney gig were the loudest BY FAR so good work gang, pat yourselves on the back etc. Ten points. Sydney is awesome. It was really really awesome to meet a whole lot of hopefuls and members as well. I got to have a chat with most of you which was great, hopefully great things are in store!
Here's four of us after the gig. @pebblezink me @christina and @puffin I remember when it was fucking RARE to manage to get two SG's at a meetup and now we're managing whole big bunches!! I had so much fun putting crazy korean style filters on this photo. Cunpic for LIFE!
Here's me and @puffin and @tao meeting @sunshine and @missy backstage before the gig.
THIS IS HOW GOOD MY VIEW WAS OMG. The girls were amazing and I now have a massive girl crush on @jennings and @bricksie meow meow! I was screaming "BRICKSIEEE" any time she was nearby on stage (which was a lot) that was fun. Also any time @christina came on the whole of SG Australia would go ape-shit screaming her name. It was so incredible to be a part of that crowd. And the group we had was like 30 people. Which is like the most people who have attended a meetup since last year's Ball (though, we just calling the ball a 'party' this year).
The following night was the Canberra gig. This was my view because I was helping out as a stage hand! Which apparently is a job I am pretty bad at. In my defense, I couldn't see the stage while the show was on and then they'd cut the lights between the songs and I'd have to go hunting for lingerie and props in the dark with a torch ("flashlight"). Once I found a spot where I could SEE the whole stage I could keep track of what I needed to pick up before they cut the lights and then I was fine. Everyone got to see my boobs so hopefully that made up for the odd thing here and there that I missed.
Me and @Missy (she started Suicidegirls in case you don't know, but really you should know.) you can see in my eyes I'm a little bit "EEEeeeEeEEeeee". I still can't really believe she was in Sydney and Canberra! I think this is going to inspire a wanting-to-meet-more-SG's thing with me which could be dangerous.
But I mean seriously look at this shit:
That's @vorpal and @jennings kissing me on the cheeks. Haha. It was really awesome to meet and hang out with Vorpal. We've kinda been skirting around each other for ages with a bunch of mutual friends and being friends on Instagram/Twitter/SG but never really talked directly so I am really glad we managed to meet and talk properly. We had a big long chat about SG in Australia and how HARD it is for introverts like us to approach girls and recruit them and how emotionally exhausting it is to pretend to be an extrovert and force yourself all the time. We're both TOTALLY on the same page about how paltry the amount of SG's in Australia is considering how many amazing tattooed babes there are here. My dream for Australia is to get enough Aussie girls pink that we can justify shooting a DVD out in the desert. How amazing would that be!? Anyway, if you're a hopeful in Australia go say hi to Vorpal because she's going to be organisng some shootfests soon which I'll hopefully be coming along to! Let her know where you live and how awesome you are.
Also! Guys! While I've got you! Please go check out Nekophilliac's set! It came out into Member Review, it features @aubreyx and @midna_ and it's adventure time themed. I directed this set, it was so so fun (except for the bit where a brown snake slithered through the shoot but we won't go into that too much). Here are some previews:
So on the left that's Midna as LSP, then Nekophilliac as Marcelline and Aubreyx as Princess Bubblegum! So yes GO LOVE THIS SET.
Some more of Team @Exkyu stuff in MR that you should go check out if you haven't already: 1,2,3,4,5 also thanks to your efforts, @pebblezink is now an SG! She stayed up for like 48 hrs because she was so excited when she found out that she couldn't sleep. I am so so so happy for her.
That's all I got for this blog! Be good!
