YAY I HAVE TIME TO BLOG! I BETTER MAKE THIS GOOD!
So last weekend! Phew! I am honestly amazed and humbled by the incredible response I had to the SG Sydney Recruitment Party and Shootfest. It all went SO SO well. We got ourselves fourty new applicants for the site and we shot ten or eleven new photosets! I am so thankful to @rambo for helping me organise everything.
First up, the party itself. I was shitting bricks right before it started because I was so worried no one would come or be interested. Which is silly because half of Sydney wants to be a Suicidegirl and I've seen proof of that now! But yes, I was worried. The organisers were really nice and gave us our own VIP area with a security guard so all the visiting SG's could kinda hide from the main part of the club if need be. That was lovely. It also gave us plenty of room to shoot the girls who were interested in applying for the site. The way I swung it was, I printed out application forms with all the info we needed, we took a few headshots of each girl and made sure we had a photo of each girl with a code that matched her application so when it came time to submit the application we knew who belonged to which photo. I submitted the applications to the site myself in about three batches. I still have a couple more to submit but they're all basically done now. Each applicant got a card with info about what to do next (keep an eye on your email, basically) and contact info for the photographer they applied with. Easy! At one point during the night we actually had a queue of girls waiting to apply. I hope we got through everyone and no one was discouraged by the wait. But the application form had lots of info we needed so it took a while.
Here's some of us having a grand old time in the VIP area.
The two girls on the far left were both applicants to SG so we let them into our VIP area. Then there's me @ohred @aubreyx @pufffin @maddame and @christina yay.
Here are some of the other applicants! I won't call them hopefuls yet because most of them haven't shot a set yet (well, the girl in the 2nd pic with Christina did like 2 days after this, but I'll get to that!)
I am really proud of my city, there are so many beautful tattooed ladies here. It's about time we had an influx of them onto SG! Hopefully most of them get their applications approved and a set shot and then they stick around!
This is all of us right before we opened. I don't think I've tagged @peggysue and @allura yet. Like my sign? It says 'hey lady' and has Suicidegirls.com underneath. Thanks Vistaprint. Haha. I also had one made with the SG logo that just says 'apply to be a Suicidegirl' so that people knew where to go to apply. It was right underneath the projector screen that had SG's UK Holiday DVD playing on loop.
These guys made T-shirts in typical Australian style. They were both pretty nice but I think they were kinda drunk by the time they came and said hi to me.
Photographer Jamie with an applicant. She came down from Melbourne with Peggy. I don't think she has an account on here yet but she does most of the photoshoots down in Melbs at the moment!
This photo is amazing on so many levels. I love how MadDame and OhRed have randomly become such great friends! Haha.
So yeah! I am still waiting to get my stuff back from the Hot Damn people. Staff tried to pinch my SG DVD's and they can't because they're my special DVD's signed by @missy and everything! They're going to post them back to me which is good. The organisers are also already trying to rope me into doing a similar recruitment party in Melbourne and Brisbane which would be pretty good! Gotta send some emails about that.
So after the party, we had a morning's respite and it was straight into the shootfest. We got a really nice hotel room at Park 8 in Sydney's CBD and we did a whole load of shoots in there and also on the roof and in the fire escape and basically anywhere else we could find.
You can look at all the photosets that @exkyu shot right here, I won't post them again because it'll just be doubling up. Just go check it out. He did a great job of blogging about all the sets he shot. I am sure @puffin will do a blog soon with the sets SHE shot. Unfortunately @nekophilliac was overseas for the duration of the shootfest, but as a Sydney native, she'll have plenty of time to shoot the girls she recruited now that she's back.
We didn't have too many girls flake out. I was actually pretty impressed, all the girls we recruited at the SG recruitment party that we invited back to the shootfest were there on time and organised and ready to shoot! All the no-show action was from existing hopefuls on SG. I think that recruiting girls at a club gets you girls who are happy to leave the house and go out and socialise. A lot of sexy online girls are homebodies and more likely to not turn up to a shoot. We did have two girls that didn't realise they had to take their lingerie off (we've nicknamed them 'Nellies' because they're no-nude-nellies) which was kinda awkward. Especially since everyone explained to them that SG was a nude site! Oh well!
I felt really protective over a lot of the younger girls we shot for SG. The 18-21year old ones that were just so adorable and totally clueless. It was fun to help in directing the modelly stuff. Getting pretty good at that now... and I know that the photos will come out nice. I was just really really keen to make sure that they had a good experience shooting with us and they weren't uncomfortable. THEY ARE LIKE MY LITTLE BABIES OKAY?!
It was my birthday on the Saturday of the shootfest and I wish I had a photo of all of us girls with our cider but I literally don't know which memory card that photo is stashed on :( :( boo.
Here... have a crappy phone version instead:
But I had a lovely birthday and went out for amazing cajun food in King's Cross. Too tired to do much in the evening because of shootfests starting at 8am each day, but it was all good. What better way to spend one's birthday than with beautiful ladies.
Speaking of! Go check out Midna's MR Set shot by Exkyu! I love it. It needs your love too.
Anyway, so now Exkyu and I have a pile of editing that is literally higher than we've ever had before. We've already finished editing and submitted a set of OhRed from the shootfest, but we have another three from BEFORE the shootfest that are done and just waiting to be submitted plus another two pending the MR queue plus another six to edit and submit. I really should get on with it. Plus my actual... you know... job. Where I am employed and am supposed to be working on right now to make grownup money. Gosh. Melbourne and Brisbane are going to have to wait a while I think!
My new set 'Ornament and Crime' will be coming out within a fortnight so I will blog about that when it comes out so keep your eyes peeled for more Countessa nudity!
Stay crazy. xx
