I very rarely bother trying to take selfies when I'm not wearing makeup but my hair was being SO amazing before my shower this morning that I succumbed...
I am selling prints on etsy, go look, they're cheap. I will be making high-res prints/posters/mounts/wall hangings/epitaphs on RedBubble soon too. At the moment I just sell geeky graphic t-shirts on there but the company is so easy to work with I am going to create another account just for SG prints!
The SG Australia Annual Ball was last night! I had such an incredible time. I got disgustingly drunk. It was amazing. My drunk self is ridiculous. Look at this shit.
There were loads of SG's as well! Hooray! We never get to hang out because we live all over the place, so it was nice to hang out all together!
MadDame, me, Diessel, Allura and Christina
Here are our resident hopefuls! I can't believe how many have cropped up recently. I was thinking to myself this morning that there are TEN girls who I can think of that are living within 5hrs drive of me right now!
Twiggythespider, Puffin, Aubreyx, Nekophilliac, Midna_, Ohred <3
I arrived in Sydney a few days before the ball because I wanted to hang out with family and do a photoshoot with this photographer I'd been in contact with via ModelMayhem. Anyway, the photographer will remain nameless, but he didn't show. I guess he spent too long asking me if I was "cheeky" and going on and on about how I was going to bring someone along (sorry dude, not posing in my lingerie in total bushland by myself... don't care how fancy your portfolio is). Anyway, I texted him to see what was up and he freaked out at me saying that we'd booked for the day after. Which I have since checked... we didn't. Then he wanted me to wait half an hour for him. But I was too cranky by then so I went and checked out all the fancy houses in all the fancy suburbs between the bush and where I was staying.
Here's me being cranky...
The night before the ball, we all went out to the pub to catch up which was lovely. I was surprised how MANY Canberra people were there that night! Also I am getting really really good at ordering paleo food from non-paleo kitchens. Dinner was pretty nice.
Me and Christina cleavage-ing it up for Instagram:
I assisted on a couple of photoshoots for SG on the day of the ball. Exkyu shot Nekophilliac in the actual venue:
And Aubreyx up on MadDame's balcony as the sun was going down
Those pics are previews only, the final products will look a bit different. But I am so excited I just HAVE to share. Both those girls are BANGING, just quietly. I love being a part of this little community. Aubrey's set was particularly entertaining because the people in the building across the road kept noticing the naked girl. We caught one guy on his balcony looking and we all waved at him and he laughed and waved back. And one other guy could see us shooting from his living room and seemed to have a bit of the horn going on. Less entertaining, but he stopped when Exkyu turned the camera on him.
The Australian Federal Election was also on the same day and everyone kept ducking out to vote (it's compulsory here). Unfortunately, the conservatives won which means slow internet, no gay marriage and we get to pretend there's no such thing as climate change for the next three years. I await salvation by Her Holiness Saint Plibersek.
Anyway, the Ball...
I was in kind of a bad mood when the ball started because some organising stuff had been left REALLY late and had to be organised in a hurry right before start time. Which meant I didn't get to have dinner till after the party had already started. But I had a good chat to some folks while I was eating and once that was done I wasn't so grumpy. Funny how food can improve my mood so much. Someone was joking about having a 'food' tattoo on facebook today (as in the tattoo just said 'food') and I've been giggling at that ever since because that's totally something I'd do. But I already have the word 'blubber' tattooed on me so maybe that's not such a great idea.
Also I need to find a tattoo artist in Canberra who doesn't suck. This travelling to get ink thing is getting ridiculous. I have a thigh piece and a half-sleeve planned. I need to just save up and do it. Golly.
There was amazing burlesque!
We watched
Then I started drinking wine. Followed by champagne. Followed by Tequila (damn a certain blue-haired Perthian for that). I got hot dancing and took of my corset. Then I looked around and realised half the other girls were also just in bras and skirts. Then we all started making out. It was pretty bonza. It was one of those parties where the next day you're a bit sad because DID THAT REALLY HAPPEN? And why can't it still be happening now? There were so many people I didn't get time to hang out with. I suck at mingling.
Here's us giving out some SG merch/prizes on stage. I wouldn't let poor Crimsonpetals go off the stage again. Poor kid, sorry Crim.
HELLO FROM SYDNEY, SG!
I took in a whole lot of business cards and postcards advertising my big SG Recruitment Party at Hot Damn and instructed everyone to give the business cards to hot ladies they saw around Sydney and the postcards to businesses/venues that advertise local events (or noticeboards in alt suburbs). Hopefully everyone does because I am aiming for a LOT of new hopefuls! Also, the cards were a hassle and I'd hate them to go to waste. Fingers crossed! I know MadDame and OhRed found some poor girl in Newtown and foisted a card onto her!
Poor kid!
I also shot with Josh Groom while I was in Sydney. He was a fantastic photographer, really friendly and fun to work with. We shot up in his office/studio with amazing LED light panels that didn't emit ANY heat. Yay. It was very directional light which I always find quite challenging because the movement of my face is so restricted. Keeping lights in the corner of my eye at all times is hard! I kept noticing I wasn't looking the right way and adjusting myself before he said anything which he was pretty amused at. I think the photos will come out really sexy and contrasty. I'm so excited about putting some new stuff in my portfolio so I can get into more paid stuff again. We also got to play around with a tilt-shift lens which was very geeky of us. I like just creating art for art's sake.
This week I'm moving house and hopefully going to shoot a set (probably just by myself) for SG! Pretty excited. I haven't submitted anything in ages. Also I have to find some time to do actual paid employment at some point. I can't survive on just photoshoots, as much as I'd like to!
In the meantime, check this out! Red is such a babe!
