So as you guys know, I'm in New Zealand. I've been here before but it was about twelve years ago and I really didn't appreciate the amazing beautifulness of this country because I was basically just a kid then. As such, I really feel like it's the first time I've been here and the place is just stunning.
I've toured a lot of the North Island so far, I have a few pics, but they're saved off my twitter because I have had very limited internet access while I've been here. Stephen Fry was right when he went on about the state of the internet here. Haha. I will definitely share MORE pics when I get back but for now...
I went to Matamata. Aka: Hobbiton. Squee!
They have a team of gardeners there helping to maintain everything and making it beautiful. I think New Line Cinemas have a pretty big stake in it because they built the set all out of real materials instead of cinema set polystyrene. And I guess that's why admission to do the tour was so pricey. But it really is amazing to see it all and dance under the party tree.
They are turning the Prancing Pony set into a function room and cafe. I can just imagine all the weddings that they will host.
I also went and swam in the hot springs at Lake Taupo. It was really beautiful there. This is me in my swimmers...
And out of my swimmers...
I shot a set in a hotel room but the camera battery died halfway through. It MAY be salvageable but I don't know. This is me dissapointedly sitting in my bath robe with my makeup all pretty...
Havent shot anything outdoors yet as I haven't had the chance and none of the backdrops have been nice and secluded enough yet. Probably once I get down to Christchurch area there will be more photoset fodder.
I was a geek and went to the Weta Cave and bought geeky tshirts though.
AND I visited the birthplace of the Rocky Horror Picture Show (and bought a DSLR battery charger nearby, phew!)
And that's basically all the pictures I have from Twitter! I would connect up my phone and transfer some more across, but I think I'd end up with some scary iPhone STD from this machine I am using right now. Haha. I'm on my way over to the South Island which is meant to be very very scenic. Can't wait.
Be good!

I'm just so disappointed in myself that I backslide so much, I have all these photographic self portrait projects in the works and I'm a little unconfident now using myself as the model, I'm not sure in what angles and poses suit me best at the moment, I can only hope i can undo 3 weeks worth of damage in 3 weeks! (I wish! more like 3 months)
