*** 341 DAYS REMAIN ***
I personally find it hilarious that I'm so stoked about this low-level Final Fantasy run-through. Playing this game is the highlight of my day as of late -- but there's no shame in that -- it's so good! Is it the best game ever? Maybe.
So let's see....
Beat Dadaluma -- easy.
Went to the Veldt again to pick up more rages for Gau -- it's tricky getting back to the Veldt a second time without an airship. You have to go all the way through the Figaro Cave, up Mt. Kolts again, through the Phantom Forest, into the Returner's hideout, and through the Lete River and Baren Falls. Even better: to get back to Figaro castle, you have to go through the Serpent Trench, which takes you to Nikeah. Then you have to take a ferry from Nikeah to South Figaro. BUT since South Figaro has, at this point, been occupied by the empire, you have to be smuggled out of town in a treasure chest! I never saw this the first ten times I played this game! Ah the little things in life.....
So...I then did the Opera House scenario. It's funny how, even though my characters have gained no experience, fighting Ultros the second time was actually easier than the first., even with only 3 characters. A level 7 Gau wearing one earring can do like 600 damage to Ultros with his Templar Rage.
Then the MagiTek research facility.
Shiva and Ifrit -- easy
Number 024 -- easy
Number 128 -- er...kind of tough
Cranes -- I had to fight these guys about a dozen times. Finally I realized that I still had a Thunder Rod in my inventory. So I put 2 earrings on Gau and used it as an item on the right crane. 2459 Damage! Playing a low level game forces one to be resourceful.
Now I'm on Triangle Island, killing Intangirs with the Rhodox rage (obviously, so it can't counterattack, duh!!!)
Time for work!

On screen there were guys in robot suits walking around the ye olde village with the thatched roofs and all that. I was like, "This is final fantasy -- fantasy! This isn't Final Reverie, or Final Daydream. You can't just put guns on screen and think I'm going to buy it. You can't just mix the genres up like that. How am I supposed to know what's going on?"
I was a freaky kid I guess. Most of my friends couldn't get enough of FFIII. They wouldn't come out of their houses to skateboard... It was a sad month.
