Since I have A reader (high beautiful ) I decided I should write some more.
Well we are in the last week of the last visitor session here at Dancing Rabbit Ecovillage and I lived through my 1st busy season. I met a lot of cool people and some of them even became residents. However I am a little disappointed that more women didn't come through. Being a single male in a village of 50 I was hoping to see single female on the applications of arriving visitors. No such luck just couples and more single men. I would have thought sustainable living would be more of a chick thing? Other than that I had a pretty great summer.
I did spend a lot of time doing computer work, but hey I have a house I want to build next year so I have to pay for it somehow. We can't get mortgages on our building because we don't own the land we build on, so it all has to come out of my pocket.
For about a year now I have been an omnivore trapped in a vegan\vegetarian food co-op and surprise surprise I lived through it. It really wasn't as hard as I thought it was going to be. I still eat meat, about once a week I walk to the local diner and get myself a bacon cheese burger. The hardest part for me was getting use to cooking with dried beans and making food I'm not familiar with. I've gotten pretty good at it now and even have people who want to cook with me to learn how I cook so well. One of the nice things about it is you only have to cook once a week or two, depending on how many people are in the co-op at a time. We recently raised our fees to a whooping $7.00 a day lol I am amazed that I never go hungry off of only $5.00 a day.
I brewed a fair amount of beer and cider this year, 33 gallons to be exact. Although that is only 1/3rd of what I can legally make. I'm not a huge drinker so I give a lot of it away and people always tell me that it's good. The local Bed and Breakfast keeps hinting I should get my brewers license and supply them with beer. When I go look at where we store our recycling I wonder if I could produce enough to fill the need. I have been kicking around the idea of upgrading my brew equipment so if I ever do that I'll be set. Part of me wants to just develop recipes and then find a local brewery to contact brew through them as I already have a shit ton of stuff to do already.
I already made this announcement in the sustainable living group but if anyone is interested in visiting my ecovillage just let me know and I can hook that up. Here are some pictures I took of the buildings around here.

I wouldn't say I was lonely. I mean I live closely 50+ people who I know a lot more than most people know their neighbors. My social needs are being met but several different people. It's mainly my sexual needs that aren't being met So I guess that means I'm more horny than lonely and I know plenty of married men in the same situation.lol
