I got back from Indiana yesterday. It was a fun trip, but I now know why I never stop in Indiana. There is nothing but corn. Everywhere. Our hotel room had a lovely view of corn. I was scared I was going to wake up Sunday morning and it would be by our window overtaking the building.
Saturday I was supposed to get up at 6:45 so I could get some things done before we left at 9. I woke up at 7:30. I think I broke a record with how fast I got ready. We stopped for breakfast before we left and then hit the road. Lori drove up there and I decided to drive back. We both love driving long distances so we decided to take turns. We also found out that once her speedometer hits 60 it no longer registers. Awesome.
We get there and we get a hotel room for the night. Michael (The one we went to go see) showed us around though it didn't take long because all there was to see was corn. We had to cross the Illinois border just to get Pizza Hut. There was nothing to do in neighboring towns either. However, when we went to Lafayette we did see the Purdue campus and they at least had a Starbucks. How the hell do people live in Indiana?
No I didn't get laid haha. Michael and I did talk quite a bit though. He reads and enjoys musicals and we have the same birthday. He's a sweet guy. Anyway, once we got tired of driving from town to town trying to find something to do we ended up going back to his house for a while to stargaze. No lights were around so we could actually see them unlike here in Cincinnati. It was cold so after a while I couldn't feel my feet. We went back to our hotel room and hung out for a while. Michael went home and it didn't take long for Lori and I to go to sleep.
The next day hr and I woke up at 8 AM and got ready to have breakfast with melaniek. We decided to go wake Michael up so he could join us, but really so he could drive since he knew the area better than her and I did. We had breakfast at Denny's. Melaniek is a total sweetheart. I'm really glad I got to meet her! We left right after breakfast.
In other news I move back to campus on Sunday. I'm excited to see all my friends. I've gotten two messages from (former) booty calls asking if I'm back yet. The one is the boy I crushed over towards the end of the school year. I think I'll avoid getting close to him. You all know how I am with relationships
At some time this week my grandma and I have to go and get all my school supplies and things I'll need for my dorm. I have to finish reading The Satanic Verses, which by the way is an okay book but I'm not LOVING it. I am about 360 pages in and it's just starting to get good. Everything else has been really slow. I have to spend tons of time with Lori before I go back. Friday is my family dinner so we can all eat together one more time before I leave. Saturday is the Renn Faire that I'll be going to with Mom and packing when we get back. Sunday I'm Lexington bound.
How was everyone's weekend?
