The school year is coming to a close. Although I am taking summr courses so I just start right back up again in June. I have to say I am not looking forward to it. I can't believe how fast time has gone and I'll be starting the last half of my college career. Where did the time go?
I got a B+ on my second essay. I'm happy with it considering I was expecting a much more gruesome grade. The prompt was to explain how The Monster by Stephen Crane and The Turn of the Screw by Henry James (bastard) used gothic elements differently than past short stories we read. I wrote the part on The Monster really well (I'm not cocky I swear). However, because Henry James is a prick (I'm still bitter) the part of my paper about The Turn of the Screw was vague because the story was vague. The third essay I turned in today. The prompt was explaining how female gothic authors used gothic elements to "out" the cancor sores of society that keeps women down and how women struggle in a patriarchal society. I wrote about Charlotte Perkins Gilman's The Yellow Wallpaper. She just go ahead and give me an A. I am just that awesome.
I've been waiting for my new sunglasses to come in. They're supposed to get here Thursday, but hopefully they come in tomorrow. I'm excited to see them. I also need to start saving money for my trip to Vegas for spring break next year. Hell yes.
This getting up at 8 AM for May term is killing me. I think next year I will only look at classes that start at 12 and 2. I now have to resist the urge to throw my phone across the room every time it goes off.
I have fallen behind in my reading and am desperately trying to catch up. I have one week.
