Whats going on the life of Deep Dish, lets count the way. (Trust me, this may be interesting)
This Friday, tomorrow, September 16th I am going to a place called The Peacock Room to hear a house DJ spin whose birthday it is and to meet up with a friend. The place is supposedly a fusion between gay bar and a place for stylishly-minded straight people.
The following day Im attending a birthday party.
On Sunday, September 25th, Im hearing a DJ named Kaskade play at the House of Blues. I doubt many people are interested in hearing me say that.
Okay, this is where it gets interesting...
On Saturday, October 1st, I plan on attending a No Pants Party at a strippers house. Underwear is acceptable, but no pants are allowed.
On Sunday, October 16th, Im hearing Steve Lawler at the House of Blues, on his Global Underground Lights Out Experience album tour. He is ranked as the #20 DJ in the world and he plays tribal and dark, twisted styles of house music.
On Saturday, October 22nd, Im going to another fetish party. Its in this dark and stylish martini lounge called Knock Knock. The last fetish party there was mind-blowing fun; probably tame compared to other fetish parties but, man, thats hot.
On Sunday, October 30th, I will hear DJ Monk, formerly of Rabbit In The Moon, spin at the House of Blues.

Distrakted Entertainment proudly presents the debut Orlando performance of:
Paolo Mojo
- Music is Freedom, Orcmusic, -
Fresh off Sashas Fundacion NYC and World tour, Paolo continues to enhance his rapidly growing reputation. Radio One, Mixmag, DJ Magazine and IDJ have all been quick to cite him as one to watch. The last 18 months have seen a much justified rise in fame, and hes grown to become on the hottest dj properties around.
Paolo Mojo's sound might be difficult to pin down, but this broad, innovative approach to his craft is making him a name on everyone's lips in 2005. His style incorporates elements of house, funk, techno, breaks, electro, disco and acid. "I've never understood this 'genre' bollocks" he says. "To me the best DJs always select the best bits from a wide range of sounds and put them together in a way that just makes sense to people."
It's certainly making sense to lots of people at the moment. Already well established for his tweaked out sets with the likes of tyrant and Sasha at fabric, and a well thumbed global passport, he's really come to the fore this year thanks to a succession of well received productions on labels such as Alternative Route, Big Love and Sabotage. - and one of the best essential mix debuts ever.
Radio One, Mixmag, DJ Magazine and IDJ have all been quick to cite him as one to watch this year - with his first mix cd 'Heretic' set for an autumn release on Sabotage. Forthcoming remixes and projects with the likes of Brancaccio and Aisher, Alex Neri, Nic Fanciulli and Paul Woolford are set to raise his bar even higher.
He also runs Music Is Freedom and Orcmusic record labels, which have consistently attracted good reviews for the past 2 years. He contributes productions and remixes to both regularly, and sees them as the cornerstone of his music output.
Congrats to Paolo for landing Balance -009 . . . he will be mixing the ninth installation in the acclaimed AU series to be released in the US in March.
Past balance artists include: James Holden, Chris Fortier, Anthony Pappa, and Desyn Masiello to name a few.

Tim Skinner
- Bedrock, Grounded Music -
While Tim Skinner has been an established figure in Florida's dance scene since the early 90's, 2002 was the year he showed the rest of the world his true abilities by filling in for Jimmy Van M as he took on opening duties for the Delta Heavy - a 40-city tour across North America featuring Sasha & John Digweed.
Later that year, Tim toured with John Digweed on Moby's Area 2 Tour featuring David Bowie and again demonstrated his talent to fans in 14 cities throughout North America. Since then, Tims travels have regularly taken him beyond the borders to locales such as Central and South America where he has built quite a loyal following.
When not traveling, Tim can be found working diligently in the studio. He and Barry Robb (aka Sphere) founded Grounded Music, which features a number of his studio productions. Other production work and remixes from Tim can be found on leading record labels throughout the globe. Most recently, Tim partnered with Martin Accorsi to produce an EP released on John Digweeds Bedrock Records. To follow Tims continued presence in dance music, visit: www.djtimskinner.com
