I was walking down a path in the woods, When all of a sudden A mugger with a knife jumps out.
"Are you christian!", he demands.
I manage to stammer, "Uh... ya I suppose he died for me right?"
The man hugs me and walks away.
I continue a little shaken by the strange experience, when all of a sudden a man falls out of a tree, and Thuds on the ground.
I run to him as fast as I can, and try to see if there's anything I can do for him.
With his dying breath he asks me, "Are you buddhist?"
I manage to stammer, "Uh, I don't know, what did he do for me?"
The man simply fades out of existence.
I'm a little weirded out at this point, Wondering what the hell kind of path I'm walking on, When all of a sudden a Clown with a chainsaw jumps out!
"Are you Hindu!", He demands while revving his chainsaw.
I jump 6 feet in the air and yelp, " What the Hell's a Hindu!"
"Lays eggs."
Yuck Yuck.

1. Christ didn't die for his beliefs. He died to redeem the world of it's sins.
2. God knew that The subject of Christ would create Hate. John 15:8 says, Jesus speaking here, "if the world hates you, you know that it hated me before it hated you." Christians however are not to hate. If they do, then they aren't doing so according to the wishes of God.
3. Christ had to die so that the Holy Spirit could come and dwell inside of believers. John 14:16 says, again Jesus speaking, "And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Helper, that He may be with you forever;"
4. Christ didn't make it appear that others caused his death. John 10:17-18 says, once again Jesus speaking, "For this reason the Father loves me, because I lay down My life that I may take it again. "No one has taken it away from me, but I lay it down on my own initative. I have authority to lay it down, and I have authority to take it up again. This commandment I received from my Father."
5. Again, he wasn't dying for his beliefs, he was dying to save us from our sins... which only his death could accomplish. He was a sacrifice for our sins so that we could be absolved from them and have fellowship with God.
6. As for escaping, yes he could have. I think it speaks volumes as to his motive that he didn't escape.
7. Most Christians throughout the ages haven't been militant at all. The holocaust wasn't committed by Christians; it was committed by Fascists Nazis without any biblical basis for their actions. The crusades were a misguided and unwarranted attempt by European kings to secure the Holy Land. They attributed it as a Holy War, but that doesn't have any scriptural basis either.
I'm sure you have more problems with Christianity than those you posted, but I can't do the conversation justice unless we start talking about Preconditions. Every belief system has Preconditions, or basic beliefs of philosophy and such that it is based on. Christianity's first precondition is the nature of truth.
how do you view and define truth?
I am writing on behalf of sg member ShiCawGo. Unfortunately she died this evening after swallowing her own tounge. This is what happens to those who alter their bodies to give the best head.
