O.K. . . . . so who's the dumb ass in this scenareo:
I attended a breakfast meeting yesterday . . there were about 250 people there, including the local politicians. I was talking to this one individual, when I noticed the wings on his lapel. So I mentioned that I am a pilot, and asked him what he flew. Well, he is a retired navy pilot, who flew carrier-based jets, I asked him if he knew or knew of, the first woman F-14 pilot, Kara Hultgren, who died after losing an engine on final approach to a carrier landing. I told him I knew her . . I used to work with her sister . . they spent a weekend at my house in Glastonbury, Connecticut years ago, etc. Before he had a chance to say much, I told him that I thought it was total bullshit, that people said there's no place for a woman in that profession, and that she shouldn't have been there in the first place, etc. etc. Then I find out that this individual is one of the flyboy fraternity that truly believes it should be an all male club, and he really thinks that she had no business being a navy jet pilot. Aarrghh! So . . since this fellow is somewhat important to me professionally, I decided I had shot my mouth off enough on that subject, and found someting else to talk about.
So, yes . . ladies and gentlemen . . . dinosaurs are NOT extinct . . yet!
