We went to New York City on Sunday, for the Westminster Dog Show, which was held Monday and Tuesday AM & PM. The one day of the year I pick to travel . . . there's a freakin' blizzard! I had already paid for the airfare, tickets to Westminster, and a hotel suite for four people, so there wasn't a chance in hell that we weren't going. All the airports from Boston to Washington DC were closed and all the inbound flights were cancelled. Sooo . . not being one to let a little thing like that stop me . . . I drove to West Palm Beach and left a car in the long term parking lot. Then, I rented a car from Avis, and drove to Orlando, where I had confirmed a flight to Atlanta, GA. We got into Atlanta around 11 PM, and found a cheap hotel in a bad part of town. Got up at 5 AM, returned to the Atlanta airport, and found a flight to Allentown Pennsylvania. Flew to Allentown, rented another car from Avis, and drove to New York City! The people we were meeting took a train in from Connecticut, and were already at the hotel when we got there. I shared a suite with three women . . Yay me! The show was great . . had nice dinners Monday and Tuesday evening between events . . took a cab ride to see parts of the City I haven't seen for quite a while . . Central Park, Tavern on the Green, the Dakota where John Lennon lived and was killed on Central Park West. Got up early on Wednesday AM . . grabbed a cab to JFK, and flew back to West Palm Beach. Whew! Mission accomplished!
