Well, that was quite a fun weekend. Drove down friday night for the grease ball, stayed saturday for the SG show.
. There were all sorts of great hotrods, bands, alchahol, and a hotel room for when we were done drinking. They even had the hotrod from the ZZ top videos there. Calidac Angels finished pretty late... around 1am, so Four Bill Stall played to a pretty empty room by the time 2am and last call rolled around. When the last call rolled around, we went up to the 2nd floor lounge and pulled out the cooler for some more drinking. Four bill stall, and some other people staying at the hotel showed up, and we ended up hanging out with the band back in their room along with a few other people. At one point, the band whipped out switchblades, tried to stab eachother, then settled into throwing them into the wall. A bit of crazyness indeed.
Went back to the room, and passed out... we hadn't really intended on staying all of saturday but when checkout rolled around at 11am it was just better to call down and get the room another night then try to be coherent. Much water and a few hours sleep later, we wandered around looking for a place to eat... the bartender the previous night had suggested The Grill. It was a pretty retro hole-in-the-wall diner. Luckily we got sandwitches and had no need for forks, as I noticed some form of crusted nastyness on the silverwear while eating. The server insisted we not order the soup because... in his words, "it is shit, and I'd feel bad for serving it to you. I wont let you order it." After munching through the sandwitch still feeling quite a bit hungover, I started to dig into the fries&tater totts. Then, all of a sudden the chef(who had a HUGE mohawk) started screaming at the top of his lungs... so ofcourse the server walks back there as do a few others of the kitchen staff and start screaming in unisen at the top of their lungs, then laugh about it. It all felt very surreal with the grey sky and small amount of rain falling down outside.
We walked back to the congress, got ready for the night. I must say, the damn showerheads there are positioned for midgets, they came about to my nipples. I seriously had a Bill Murray from Lost in Translation moment. We went and waited for Sarah and Eian(who had just flown in from scottland) to get there in the lounge... zoning out to the football on TV. Though, neither of us like or understand football... it was more about zoning out to pretty colors while hung over at that point. A few of the SG girls were sitting around working on laptops, etc. Nixon informed us that the band manager was staying in a REALLY haunted room where they had seen the walls bleed the year before. Sarah and Eian finally showed up, we went and got some dinner... stood in line for tickets and saw the show. I was a bit skeptical about the JPOP group Tsu Shi Ma Mi Re, but they put on a pretty damn good show... it was a lot of fun. The girls put on a wonderful show as well, tasteful and fun. Great selection of music and 'skits'. It was still early for Eian, so we went and again took over the 2nd floor lounge with a few bottles of alchahol, and mixers, and snacks. It is damn hard to find anything to watch at 2am when you only get ESPN and MTV, and a few other limited channels.
We went with a few of the girls to try to see the walls bleed, but never saw it. Though, that room DID give off some creepy vibes anyway. For those that don't believe in that sort of thing... im not going to try to convince you. I grew up in a haunted house, and have seen my share, so was honestly not HORRIBLY disapointed to not see anything. The night manager kept freaking out and coming uptsairs to yell at us and other people for making too much noise. We finished drinking and finally went to bed a bit after 5am... I think. Woke up and packed up around 11am to get out before checkout... at 11. Managed to get back up to the Chander/Tempe area in only about an hour. Yeah going about 90. I've been sipping green tea in a daze debating taking a nap or not for a few hours now... watching The Last Boyscout.(such a great movie, was happy to see it on tv) Figured I'd update before I went and passed out. I'm sure this is all rather incoherent, but my sleep schedule has been completely off since around wednesday, and a few nights of drinking and partying are a good enough excuse.
If any of you actually read through this entire rambling thing... ummm... thanks? And I guess I owe ya a few mins of your life back. lol.
So... its not quite monday yet but... close enough.

Happened just the other day
Tuesday came for Friday morning
Then it started up again
What would I do Monday's through
Nothing seems to change
Guess I'll have for wait for Friday
Turn into another day" - Butthole Surfers: Ah ha

sucks that stupid work and school start up again tomorrow. oh well, i can reflect on the great time we had to help get me through the week.
dude!! Reagan, Fractal, Fanny, Nixon, and Chloe hacked my profile!! how cool is that?
Im soo sad you were at the SG show. I was suppose to go. Some friends came to my work and invited me to have some diner and drinks and I got so sidetracked I forgot all about the show. SO pissed. I wish I knew you were gonna be there.
Glad you had an adventure!
