Went clothes shopping today after THE DOG ate all my shorts. Summer in AZ with no shorts would be like hell in a sweater. Of course, I also had to take the opportunity to get some great new T-shirts... things like "Silence is GOLDEN, Duct tape is SILVER." and "Does not play well with others."
Still sore from the gym yesterday, so I slacked off and ordered pizza and watched movies with friends. Thats uhh some form of a workout, right? haha. Boondock Saints is such a good movie, I've seen it quite a few times... but never seems to get old. That brings us to today's Latin lesson today, since I had to explain the tatoos like 10 times tonight.
Veritas Aequitas: Truth and Justice
Oh, heres a great quote I found today... guess who wrote it, and who it is about. The answer is below:
"I find him destitute of morals and not respectworthy. It is plain that where his political self and his party self are concerned he has nothing resembling a conscience; that under those inspirations he is naively indifferent to the restraints of duty and even unaware of them; ready to kick the Constitution into the back yard whenever it gets in the way; and whenever he smells a vote, not only willing but eager to buy it, give extravagant rates for it and pay the bill not out of his own pocket or the party's, but out of the nation's, by cold pillage."
That'd be Mark Twain regarding President Roosevelt in his letters to Twichell. It is as true about our present president as it was about his own. What a Sad state that we cannot seem to extricate ourselves from the mire of stupidity, and self-serving greed in politics even after all these years. That was written in 1905 by the way... 101 years ago.
