Anyone else scared of Judge Alito? Don't get me wrong, I don't think we're going to get anything better while Bush is the one choosing... but the dude does still scare me.
He is a master of giving absolutely no answer but at the same time, his lips flap and sounds come out for 10 mins.
It makes me sad to think that most people are too freaking stupid to see it. In a generation that has been raised on television, fastfood culture, add campaigns that verge on psychological warfare, and vast amounts of technology,. I can't believe that people havn't become so numb to the tricks that they can see through them.
AZ just passed law to use the electronic voting machines.(read: easily defrauded) The votes give no paper receipt, no record as proof in case of recounts. Furthermore, the data is not encrypted within the machine. It is stored in a format that can be easily viewed and edited by Excel. I wouldn't even have to hack that to get in... I just change the OS shell to windows, boot in, change the data in excell. Then there's no record. Kinda screwed up eeh?
OH and don't get me started on how the NSA has been laying low so they can spy on MILLIONS of americans. They took a survey and 78% of the people interviewed thought there was nothing wrong with ordering the NSA to spy on american citizens. NOTHING WRONG?? GOOD GREIF! It is your right to privacy, its a keystone of what this country was founded on. Read the freaking constitution. Nixon got thrown out for spying on the opposing party... we're now spying on american citizens en masse. We're also sending American Citizens, as well as Foreign Nationals to Guantanamo bay and holding them without phonecalls, or word to anyone. Civil Liberties Trampled, basic human rights revoked. Torture, lies, greed, manipulation... lets not REALLY get me started on it. 1984? Good try George, you were off by less than 20 years.
"Anything could be true. The so-called laws of Nature were nonsense. The law of gravity was nonsense. 'If I wished,' O'Brien had said, 'I could float off this floor like a soap bubble.' Winston worked it out. 'If he thinks he floats off the floor, and if I simultaneously think I see him do it, then the thing happens.' Suddenly, like a lump of submerged wreckage breaking the surface of water, the thought burst into his mind: 'It doesn't really happen. We imagine it. It is hallucination.' He pushed the thought under instantly. The fallacy was obvious. It presupposed that somewhere or other, outside oneself, there was a 'real' world where 'real' things happened. But how could there be such a world? What knowledge have we of anything, save through our own minds? All happenings are in the mind. Whatever happens in all minds, truly happens" Orwell, George. 1984 (hyperlink to the book online)
p.s. No conspiracy theories here, that is all documented fact.
