I have to be a good girl and get some more pages of my book read. I am trying out this book club (I know, there's no way to say it so that it doesn't sound lame!) that my friend invited me to join. I was intrigued simply because they chose an awesome book: "de Kooning: American Master". Anyway, our meeting isn't until the end of the month, but I have so many events coming up, and I'm having trouble making myself buckle down and get to page 250. Oh well, only a little over 50 pages to go before I make that goal. It's an amazing book, and I highly recommend it, especially if you know a lot about New York and would be interested to know where de Kooning lived and hung out. I actually never thought that much about him, and was not very familiar with his work until reading this book. It's very well written and not sensationalistic -- yet. There's just nothing like a good biography. It's odd, I find biographies interesting because even if they manage to convey that the subject led a very fascinating life, they still show that the subject was, or is, JUST A PERSON! Just like you or me, only someone bothered to write their story in a way that made them see extraordinary.
Okay, off to read! But if you're reading this, what are YOU in the midst of reading these days?

I'm trying to read my e-mail and SG posts. It's not that I'm that popular...just that I can have heroic levels of inertia when I decide to use them.
