Well... I haven't updated in awhile.

I'm considering moving in with some friends in South Philly. For other Philly residents, they live in the Queen Village area. It's a gay guy couple that I've known for awhile. It might be a good thing, and I'd definitely save some money on rent. I'm feeling very ambivalent about moving. It's a big change to make.

My cats...

That's a great area; we need to move too but not going South this time.

Welcome back ... are you still using Kelly Services by any chance?

i'm sorry to hear that your kitties are sick! i, too, am an overprotective cat owner, so i know what it's like. my two have had upper respiratory issues since we got them, i think our current apartment is toxic, air-wise. thankfully, we're moving in 3 weeks.
hope that they both get well soon! smile
i saw your post in the "kitties" group, so i thought i'd stop by and say hi.
i'm not a random guy, but i saw what you said about commenting before friend requesting smile

I'm considering adding some other things to my life. Well, things I've wanted to do for a long time, I just have to get up off my ass and do them. I have a bad habit of staying in with the kitties and watching DVDs or reading, and staying in with friends when we hang out. Well... when I lived in the DC area, I...

Congrats on the new job! That sounds awesome! I agree on the jeans front. I HATE low rise, my ass always hangs out and I walk so much that they stretch out and end up falling down and I have to pull them up constantly.

I've become quite the stay at home gal recently. Most of my friends do the bar scene and there is a huge community of lesbians hitting bars but it's too much of a feeding frenzy for me. Instead I work all day, come home, make dinner, play with the kitty, read and watch movies with my girl when she gets home.

For fun, I go to new restaurants (we have found some AWESOME places in the area for sushi), rock climbing and I'm actually going to African Dance next week! I can't wait!

A lesbian book club sounds like the ticket though, good luck!

PS I just remembered my new favorite thing to so is go to the lesbian coffee shops! It is sooo much fun, I just check email, read, chill and it's just a sweet safe space with hot ladies that are actually interested (not that I would go for it, happily taken, but it's fun anyway)! Come visit Brooklyn!

I've been having kind of a low key sort of weekend. Haven't updated this thing in awhile.

Friday night I went to a bar in south Philly to celebrate a friend's birthday in a gathering of his friends and co-workers. It was quite fun! Saw some of my favorite gay guy friends, and met some new and fun folks. The only crappy part was getting...

The lake was completely frozen over, but the snow actually acted as insulation and melted the ice, so it is pretty much not frozen at all.

I have skiing class on Monday. College class, that is. If it is canceled because of the snow, I am going to be so pissed.

we already have 24". And it is supposed to snow heavily until 10am and then consistently until 10pm tomorrow. We could get 40"+. I'd be highly, highly shocked if you guys got more than we did during this one. I think my area and the area directly south west of me is supposed to get the most this time around.

Both of the fucking parties I was supposed to attend this weekend were canceled due to the fucking FOOT of snow we got.

I was annoyed. Now I have to bring my engaged friend to a strip club instead of to a burlesque show, which I'm sure will be fun too, but burlesque shows are cooler. They postponed the damn thing to the day of...

A busy weekend is coming up! Luckily, I'm done with all of my Christmas shopping. Only made 3 stops, too - and one was the co-op, where I was buying food, so it wasn't out of my way. I made some good buys, too. I lucked out, because the Borders in my neighborhood is going out of business, and a couple of the things I...

haha oooo I'm a boring old Mexican!
My Father was born and raised in Guadalajara and my Mother's parents are originally from Mexico City. She was born of course in the States from "illegal citizens". I'm not 100% sure of my ancestry but from what I've gathered it's nothing exotic. I think I have a native american appearance, my azteca background seems to show in my face haha.

Weirdest thing happened the other day. Max and I had just gotten back from bringing the cat to the vet - poor thing has crystals in his bladder.

Anyhow, we were hanging out in my apartment and decided to make a run to the snack machine downstairs. We went out in the hall of my floor to wait for the elevator. There were these two...

I took your suggestion and went out and bought a saag paneer to try. Hope it's yummy! That's a crazy story. They were wearing something like old school uniforms? How odd. Maybe they were just nerds looking for a little fun. biggrin

Ok, so here's the deal. I take SEPTA, which SouthEastern Pennsylvania Transit Authority. This is my main form of transportation.

SEPTA makes monthly passes, which is a less expensive way to take it if you use the pass often enough. One of the ways that they get funding for transportation is to put an ad on the pass each month. Usually it's some local college...

I'm not a vegetarian and I hate McDonald's too... I haven't eaten there in three years (or any fast food, really) and I feel so much better for it. smile

I used to have those adverts on my pass as well but now that I'm at U Vic (our ID acts as a bus pass), no more adverts... so happy.

Maybe next month will be better? wink
