Let's see, I haven't updated this in forever, and a lot is new!
I gained 42 lbs in 2011, due to medications that I had been taking.
In 2012, I have lost 35 lbs. (so far) since January of 2012, and I feel GREAT about it. The food I'm eating makes me feel happier and more energetic, and I love going to the gym every day. My abs are more toned than they've ever been before (and they weren't half bad before).
This fall I'm going back to college! I'm going to be continung to work in the mid-mornings and afternoons, but I will go to class before work on Monday - Thursday (have fridays off), and dance class or the gym after work. I'm excited to be going to school again.
I'm going to be going part time from now until this time next year, and then full time in fall of 2013. In January of 2013, I will have enough credits transfer to a 4-year college (such as Bastyr) where I can get my bachelor's of science in nutrition and become a registered dietician.
My dream is to then go into practice with my sister (who is a naturopathic doctor) and after it gets off the ground (3-5 years down the line) expand it into a Wellness center that includes massage therapy, and a yoga/pilates studio.
This fall I'm taking Environmental Biology, Intro to Nutrition, and Jazz dance.
-I love my job. I realized that recently when I was getting kinda crappy hours, so I was thinking of looking for another part-time job, or a full time job instead of this one. But... my job is awesome.
Let's see why:
-Since it's audit season (at an accounting firm) and my boss is working on a ton of audits, he doesn't even come to the office half of the week. So, I get my work done with no one supervising me, which is kinda awesome.
-As long as I do what I need to do, I can surf the web or listen to music while I work
-My hours are flexible. I just tell Thomas if I need to leave at 2 or 3 that day, for whatever reason.
-I get $50 bonuses whenever a client that I brought to the firm signs with us
-I like working part-time.
-It is just a 15 minute bus ride to the community college, which is great.

Easing back into school is definitely the way to go, especially if you've been out of it for a while. Nutrition is a pretty interesting area - it's something I got bits and pieces of at pharmacy school but it was interesting stuff (what I learned is mostly applied nutrition plus all the calculations for preparing IV nutrition).
