hi guys!!
ok so my internet has been down for a week *just when I needed it the most!!!!* but HERE FINALLY is my questionnaire -- if you want to have a bash at it, just reply and send it to me here thank you all so much!!!
millions of love and huggles!
My question: How does identity formation and construction of the self in online worlds and communities draw from presentations of the physical self?
I;d be really grateful if you could answer these questions to the best of your ability and send them back to me! If you have any problems, just send me an email!
Are you Male or Female?
How long have you been a member of suicidegirls.com?
Are you an active participant (i.e. commenting, having a blog and friends that you talk to in groups and throughout the site), or are you a passive participant (i.e. viewing Suicide Girls sets and member photos but not really having an active role in the site)?
Why do you participate this way?
Do you feel that the SGs are a fair representation of a womens body?
Do you feel that SG.com lives up to its aim of being a site of alternative beauty?
How do you feel about your body and your physical self esteem when viewing photosets and as a member of this site?
Do you feel more confident in presenting your physical body to the community within SG as a member of this site?
Do you feel you create a different identity online?
If yes, why?
Do you feel that through interacting with the physical content of this site (i.e. the photosets) you are encouraged to think of identity in physical terms? (for example, do you think that beautiful/slim = a good/interesting person).
Do you feel you compete with the physical bodies and identities presented by the SGs? (i.e. do you feel you have to be extra interesting in your blogs/comments or present similar photos etc?)
How do you feel about SG.com as a whole?
What do you think of the girls that represent SG.com (the suicide girls)?
Does a site that focuses on the physical self (the body) force you to look at your own body?
Any other comments or thoughts about SG, online identity or anything else???
Thank you for your time!
in other news, I've managed to keep dreads in my hair for over two weeks, without getting bored and ripping them out! AND i have millions of photos to follow sooooooon, i promise!
paranormal activity is out in the uk this month, and I am very very very excited! I saw it in the cinemas when it came out here and I was screaming in the theatre!!! (as was the rest of the cinema-goers!!!) its one of the scariest films ever! I';m such a pussy when it comes to horror, and it totally seemed real!
and finally, I am so tired, i think i could sleep for a week, but 6000 words in three weeks mean that I cannot sleeeeep
anyone fancy writing this damn thing for me!?
love! xxx
