Lots of madness in the past 20min..
My Adventure: Buying Stamps and Train Tickets
I have just taken money out of my bank, a total of $380... this will cover my rent, food, and travel bills... so tonight I had to go purchase stamps (for 2 letters) and some train tickets... I take my money, leave $280 behind and head out w/ crisp new $20 bills and a crumpled up $5 thats been in my pocket for days.
As I walk to the store that sells the tickets (in my head I'm hoping they also sell stamps) I come across a store thats still open, and inside it has a big sign that says "Buy Your STAMPS Here", well, how perfect is that...
I walk up to the door and its locked. I look up and see a sign that says "knock", so I do. A man comes to the door and asks me what I want (in a surly voice). w/ my clever wit I reply "stamps", he waits a second, unlocks and opens the door.
He then asks me how many I need,
"Two", I respond
"We only sell books of 10" now in an arrogant tone
"Fine, I'll take 10 then" getting the feeling I'm not welcome
"thats $5 something something"
ok, he didn't say "something something" its just that I can't remember the exact centage
"ok", so I pull out the crumpled up $5 and proceed to dig for change in my vest
"is that all you have??? You have more then 5 friends don't you?" looking at me like a common thief and/or bum
*blank look* blinks in disbelief
"you have more then $5 right" pushing me
at this point I'm annoyed and decided to pull out the $100 (saddened that I left my $280 behind) and toss him a $20
he stares, shocked, "don't you have anything smaller"
"nope"
in dismay he makes change, very very slowly... I take my stamps, change, and walk out...
people jumping to conclusions pisses me off... I can't stand it, I do my best, I give people the benefit of the doubt, I don't make blatant assumptions (well, I do, when I'm w/ friends, and I'm joking.. usually something shocking, on purpose, but thats me, w/ my friends, I don't take that to the public)....
I always find it allot more fun to think of a story as to why a person is like the way they are... for instance, we were working last week and we watched some guy doing rather poorly at his job; my co-worker starts calling him an idiot etc (not to the guy, just to us) and so I turned it around and made up a story about how his gf just decided that she wanted to become a man and had the consult for the surgery (b/c thats a good reason why you wouldn't be focused on the job)
ok, thats getting long and boring and running on and and... STOP
now, to work on my list from last post...
HEADPHONES:
- my headphones broke.... I've had them (Sony MDR V500) for 4-5yrs now, and they have been w/ me EVERYWHERE... every journey I make, they are there; everything I do they are w/ me; I'm rarely w/o them from more then a few hrs..... and finally they break....
this is unusual for me as I believe that my things have to keep up w/ me. I shouldn't have to baby everything I own, so typically the things I own are of the "rugged" variety...
not that I dont' take care of my things, but I'm not one to worry about scratches and such... its been said that "the things you own end up owning you", and I don't want to be that person...
fortunately the break isn't too bad, and was able to fix them right up, so yes, they will continue the journey w/ me...and I'm happy again...
and thats that.... one incoherent journal entry.... its been so long since I've written I'm all over the place.... sorry for that... bare w/ me as I get back in the swing of things..
Q: "The Swing of Things" where does that saying come from???
