remember the time I met Buck 65???
I DO!!!! b/c it was 19hrs ago!!!!
I have no idea where to start here b/c allot of things happened yesterday
first, I went to work for the first day..... I'm working demo (demolition) out in Abotsford... so I wake up, grab my lunch and head out, walk down the street to where my boss picks me up. My boss being a 5'11", 160lbs man of, ummm, older years, who drives bikes, motorbikes, this one in particular is a motorbike w/ a sidecar.................. yes, I went to and from work in a sidecar.... so work was easy enough, physically its easy, all you do is find drywall, and smash it out (b/c drywall doesn't really biodegrade all that well, so when they knock the house down and bury it, they don't want drywall in it).... easy, but we do goto some sketch places, its not like demo'ing new houses, its old, moldy, fire/water damaged houses, that may or may not have been used by drug addicts.... so allot of the time you're smashing out windows (lots of fun!!!) to get air or light into the room.... anyway, work went fine, not something I want to do forever, but good enough for now....... so I get back, have a shower, Jess gets home, reminds me we're going to see Buck 65 at the Commodore, and I'm tired, not really into it at that moment, but by the time we get up the stairs into the Commodore I'm amp'd.... it sets in how I'm about to see, and freak out.... so the opener was Kinnie Starr, who put on an amazing show, and was called back for an encore, but didn't come back out..... then when the stages was being set we (Jess, Jen and I) move up to the front row, and POW, I run into Leanna AND Allison (who I didn't recognize b/c I haven't seen her in 3 yrs and she has her hair really short so its not my fault and quit yelling at me!!!!!) which was a huge surprise, we made introductions and waited for the show.......
the show
definitely in the top 3 shows that I've ever been to.... the set he played was amazing, nice blend of old, remixes of the old (like the starter being a blend of Craftsmanship and 463) and new tracks (like Temporarily In Love).... he is an amazing showmen, all his songs sound like pages from the scrapbook of his life, and his in between song banter is hilarious (like his "sperm your wife tonight" lines), hes a man you can relate to easily and communicates w/ his audience with honesty, w/o posing like most artists....so, yes, right up front for the whole show, enjoying ever min, then it ends, encore, ends, encore, ends and then the third and last encore (where he did Wicked and Weird in triple time!!!), so yes, ends, and then he jumps down into the audience right in front of me.... and so yes, I of course stay there (find out his email address!!!) talk to him, he tells me he likes my shirt, shakes my for along time, the kind where you shake someones hand, and at the time you think you should let go he hangs on and just talks to you more..... and then I left and have been on a high since....... to the point where I don't even want to talk about today..... so I wont.....
