Back in Marblemount. Logger in Training. Working up at Hozomeen. Ross Lake (resevoir) is empty so we drive through Canada, B. C., and Hope. I learned Canadians call strippers peelers and meth heads jibbers. As for work if it doesn't make noise we don't want it. Bobcat, Back Hoe, Toter, Generator, Chainsaw, Impact Wrench, Wood Chipper, Drill, and shit.
I'm totally the kid in this place. I get in the truck and Artie says, 'Brandon, no one knows who you are. You are a total nobody in the Skagit Valley.'
Yet I'm honored to be working there. The shit is funny. There's no place I been that's had so many people that have worked there for so long. The Skagit is pretty small and there's some bleak stuff going on around there. No one really asks anything about Tucson except whether or not we work harder than them.
Next week it's probably me and two 50 year old ex-loggers. Robin may be there too. His stated conversation topics are work, kids, baseball and pussy. Two minute after work is over he gets bored.
Hopefully my logger in training will continue with a chainsaw intensive after the hydraulic lessons last week.
