So I am a semi-aunty for the third and extremely proud time
That's a HUGE baby!!!
What do you get the woman who lives a million miles away, who you love very much and who could have anything she wants but who never wants anything? I can't afford a maid for her and I think that with three children under the age of two that could be the only thing she really needs
Went for my bushwalk and it was heaven. The creek wasn't running which surprised me after the rain but there were many large waterholes filled with tadpoles...I met a nice old man who was collecting them for his ponds with his dog.
This pond was filled with tadpoles:
I also met up with a Kookaburra who let me get quite close...some animals will let you do that and I love it when that happens, when you're making eye contact and really checking each other out. He seemed to quite like playing supermodel and posed for a few shots for me
This is one of my favourite trees. It's actually a giant bee hive, if you lean on the trunk you can hear the constant hum. The bees are very calm and if you scramble down the embankment on the other side of the tree and stand in the creek bed, you can look directly into the hive. I would give anything to taste the honey they make.
This is Desi. She is one of the bravest people on earth and she is playing supermodel outside of one the best hole-in-the-wall music shops in Adelaide. I like it because it not only stocks music I like, but because it is run by an old lady whose computer is as decrepit as mine.
I love photocopying at work. They pay me to lock myself in the copy room for anything up to two hours, turn the fucker on and drift off into a nice daydream...
I like the photocopier too. It is such an easy to use & logical machine. I can admire how refined that machine is. I love to look at "things" and see how much thought, effort and knowledge has gone into them.
Sometimes when I'm daydreaming I stop dead. I get very afraid that what I'm thinking isn't rooted in reality. But my daydreams are my hopes and without them...?
San Diego Serenade by the inimitable Tom Waits
I never saw the morning til I stayed up all night
I never saw the sunshine til you turned out the light
I never saw my hometown until I stayed away too long
I never heard the melody, until I needed a song.
I never saw the white line, til I was leaving you behind
I never knew I needed you til I was caught up in a bind
I never spoke i love you til I cursed you in vain,
I never felt my heartstrings until I nearly went insane.
I never saw the east coast til I move to the west
I never saw the moonlight until it shone off your breast
I never saw your heart til someone tried to steal,
Tried to steal it away
I never saw your tears until they rolled down your face.
I'm both cheap & sentimental
another day older and im deeper in debt?
