What a great night!
Good bands, nice people!
Sons of Sun played beautifully...there is nothing quite like moments of musical clarity in a smoggy venue when you can hear every separate instrument and note perfectly
The Satellites were brilliant! SEE THIS BAND!
The crowd was a mix of all ages, older rockabilly types all dressed up in genuine vintage gear and swing dancing and people around my age and younger (all tattoos and stretched ears, all the girls look like Bettie Page ). I didn't feel nervous at all...I usually get nervous around people my own age though (y'know...the "cool kids" factor, "I'm such a nerd and they're so cool" syndrome that most of us are susceptible to). So the mixed crowd, complete abscence of drunken/drugged lunatics made it so much easier to enjoy myself.
We did not get the dog. I have made a final decision regarding pets, and that is "no more". I do not want to acquire an animal that will eat so much meat and require so much attention (that I don't really have the time to give) and give nothing in return (except cute puppy dog eyes and cuddles ).
I used to be vegan in my early 20s and while I don't want to become vegan again, I really want to cut our meat consumption. By doing that we may be able to downsize our fridge to a bar fridge without a freezer box...eating less/no meat has that "knock on" effect. We're not big meat eaters anyway, but I want to cut down further.
I refuse to quit cheese and yoghurt.
I've also been considering transport.
I have been thinking alot about the costs (all of them) of owning a car and I am really at a loss as to what to do, public transport is just so bad in South Australia and I don't think I would feel safe on either a bike or a scooter...I live between two very busy main roads that are clogged at the times I would be using them.
I remember buying my first bike...I was 12 (I was a bit pedal-challenged and learnt late). I bought it out of the paper and it was a Bell's Ladies Bicycle with a leather embossed seat, skirt gaurd and all original paintwork...plus two lurid pink handles complete with streamers straight out of the 70s
I wish I still had that bike.
I would love to find another like it and restore it for everyday use.
These are my options:
(Jayne Mansfield not included).
Or:
Or:
* An electric bike/normal old pedal bike.
* This wacko old people's scooter thingo that I saw yesterday...it is fully enclosed (like a one person car) and looks like something that the Pope would get around in.
IMPORTANT QUESTION:
DO BREADBINS WORK? HOW LONG CAN YOU STORE BREAD IN THEM?
