*I bought the dress. It was too beautiful.
If you could see it, you would have bought it too. Even if you are a man. If you are a man, you would go tranny if you saw this dress. If you are a man and you are reading this, you are a tranny.
*There was a huge stuff up at work today. One of my bosses called me at 10:20am to ask if I was aware that I was meant to be at work (no, she wasn't being sarcastic...she was didn't think that the shifts had been organised properly by her job-share person). That really shook me up because I have never missed a shift out of forgetfulness (and only two for being sick). But she rang back and confirmed that her job-share hadn't correctly organised the shifts...so I felt alright after that.
*I went all the way down south to my favourite op shops! I tried on a blue rose print dress in a rock 'n roll/swing dance supplies shop attached to a garage (it's a bit disconcerting pulling your kit off in a bathroom with big greasy handprints on everything and the shop dog whining at the door). Yet another dress that my ribcage has defeated. I may have to do something about those recalcitrant ribs of mine.
*I love roses. I have to keep a check on how many rose-print things I have to avoid the nanna-look.
*I went to the my absolute favourite op shop...it's a genuine junk 'n treasure trove where they keep everything that's donated (I have witnessed them selling a second hand walking frame...that's how much junk you'll find in there). There's piles and piles of dusty stuff that I can happily rummage through. I found a very old necklace made out of small coral beads and water-washed agates...it's quite unusual. There was also a print of Bogie & Bacall (best ever on and off screen couple) that I might go back and get later in the week and some B & W pictures of VW's but they were a bit hippy and yuck (anyone who puts an Om sticker on a VW and hangs wooden beads & feathers & shit from the rear view mirror should be hung, drawn and quartered in my opinion).
*I am desperately seeking the title and artist of a song that has a line in it something like "because I love you too much baby". I think it is Tom Jones or Elvis. If you can guess this song you win 10 million $$ of someone else's money.
*******
Just saw "Gypsy"...the musical about the life of Gypsy Rose Lee, that is based on the book she wrote. It was awful. Completely Disney-fied. Saccharine (it's a musical...what was I expecting?). The book is much saltier and much funnier. Read that. Or read the book written by her son.
And Natalie Wood only ever appears in a spangly bikini near the end
