Am reading the latest John Marsden called Incurable, it's the next of the Ellie Chronicles. It's much better than the previous Ellie....which let down the brilliant Tomorrow When the War Began series in my humble librarologist's opinion.

Oh, there's a litlle bit of blushing and an occasional shortness of breath, but really it's all tea-parties, morning constitutionals and let's have a whack on the harpsi-chord.

And I'm enjoying it all perversely whilst wanting to wring all of their blessed little necks smile

I'm just a barbarian, really.

Oh, and I should mention that those tattoos were done by Gomer of the Body Art Shop right here in SA...and that he is a very lovely person who goes to great effort to put clients at ease and help sort out just the right design!
We had scones for breakfast today and it is way too hot for any sort of barbeque...
Yesterday we...

Yesssss!!! My bathroom is being painted grey as I write!!! I have lived in my house for about 9 years and it has not been repainted in all that time (angels fear to tread in my bathroom and brave men have been known to froth at the mouth and rave...) And the owners agreed to paint it grey instead of blue!
I don't like blue...

Ye Gods!! I believe that today I may have encountered someone who genuinely has Tourette's Syndrome!! (It was at work of course).

*An agitated looking young female approaches the service desk*

"Hey, do you have children?"

"Umm, no. But I am familiar with the children's library and we do have a toy library, would you like to know the opening times?"

"My stomach is...

Alright, I know telling people about your dreams is meant to be a quick way to help them get to sleep themselves, but...I had the weirdest dream last night! It was very real (which scares me!) I was on the phone to a local hotel in my area and I was trying to book rooms...they said that they were all booked out except for a...

I have just spent four and a half hours shelf reading (organising items into Dewey) in the childrens non-fiction section skull Now I understand why toddlers behave the way they do in libraries...I kind of feel like throwing books around and and spitting food on the floor too.
Nonetheless it's a beautiful old library that used to be theatre back in the days when audiences weren't...

thanks for the tips...i've heard similar things before about Yungonndi or whatever its called. I did a Pitjantjatjara course there a few years back with Bill Edwards...did you ever come across him? And i have met Sid before, Wendy sounds great and i hope i do have her at some stage.
So of the track a bit, i get the feeling we perhaps have some similar interests and that maybe your an op-shop queen too? My favourites are the salvo's and goodwill on findon rd and the salvos on regency rd and north east. There's also a really nice proper church oppie down at henley beach, a couple of blocks back from the beach and a great Red Cross store on Grange rd. Where are your favourites? Now that i think on it I haven't been op-shopping for such a long time. It seems like there is so many people out scouring them to make money these days, not that i blame them i have been known to do it too, but i hate that everyone has caught on to it now, its harder to find a bargain.
By the way i looved yr rant about the christmas light and the Caganer. I've printed out the wikapedia thingy and will show my uncles at christmas i know they'll love it! We need to know about these things.....
wink
feijoa:
haloha...
thanks for adding me to yr friends! blush
I think i was due to meet a new friend here.
Have you met any other adelaide people here?
Yeah i have been to the christies salvos but i haven't for some time, tho my good friend has just moved to Aldinga and i have been getting down there a bit so i'll try and remember to pop in there sometime soon.
What are your christmas commitments like? ( read my journal to hear bout my expectations).
...but really i'm gonna try and make the most of it smile

I think I may need to clarify my last journal entry, before I start giving the impression that I am either autistic or agoraphobic...definately neither. I just can't handle socialising at parties, you're there to be entertained but also to be entertaining...it's too much pressure for me, that and I'm pretty straight (half a beer leaves me a giggling mess) so I'm not really on...

I am so with you on the party pressure thing. There are things you are expected to say and do, no matter what your personality may be - and you are judged by how well you do them. puke
