I bought this book called 'What the Buddha taught'. Just to make me think a bit more since a lot of what I'm thinking about at the moment is science. I'm not really a religious person so since it's not really a religion as such...
In Buddhism, there are four noble truths (very roughly translated to be):
1) Suffering
2) the arising or origin of suffering
3) the ending of suffering
4) the way leading to the ending of suffering
I can't stand to be around people 24-7. Being around people to much makes me unhappy (which sounds silly butI can't think of a better word at this time). That's like my suffering. But how do I relieve my suffering or my unhappiness? Can I just tell myself everything's fine? Should I just get rid of the people making me feel like this? Who would I have leftto give me the love I require some of the time?
I read Nietzsche when I was younger to seem more intellectual and whatever he said didn't matter because I didn't have the concentration to read it in enough detail. This makes too much sense to me. You really need to read the first chapter to see what I'm saying about how I can't just say it isn't so.
Started revision yesterday. Everything's going well. Just taking it slowly. Not getting much done but what I am doing is good quality work and I'm sure it will pay off in the exam. Iam feeling better about myself in general now. Knowledge on the inside. New facewash and hair conditioner on the outside. Had I only wrote the last paragraph, I would have said I was easy to please.
