i still cannot believe how productive i was yesterday. i'm so proud of myself. i think its because i have a four day weekend and i've got to get something done, right?
i went to OMSI (Oregon Museum of Science and Industry) for the frist time yesterday. they were having a reptile and amphibian exhibit this weekend. it was soo cool. while i was in the handling area where people were holding some of the animals for the guests to see up close, i noticed that these people didn't look like employees, they looked like volunteers. i thought what a cool place to volunteer for because you learn so much about endless subjects as well as how museums work! its a perfect foot in the door of something so much bigger! so i'm really excited about it and called the volunteer coordinator yesterday and left her a message. its fucking perfect!
other than my awesome museum experience, i ran errands and went on a small mall spree. i needed a new wallet desperatly then was distracted by the cute cords for sale at old navy. but the chances of pants like that actually fitting my big ass and thick thighs are slim to none (don't take that comment as though i don't love my body, i do, i just wish clothing stores would know that not every girl has a bony ass!) i tried a couple of pairs on and they actually fit! so i splurged a little and got a new pair of cords and a new wallet.
later in the night i hung out with a lady friend and her new housematey and watched nip-n-tuck for the first time. when i saw previews for it, i was so appaled that they are having a show about plastic surgery. surprsingly enough, the show was actually good. the script was intelligent, the story plots were aimed at real current issues. i was impressed.
and today!!! its chunkathalon!!!! i'm super exited about this. i've heard in past years its been kickass. a friend is doing a bit with fire playing and others will be taking part in wonderful bits of chaos. i love how the mercury says to bring protective eyewear. beware, not for the faint of heart!
