Over on my photoblog ( http://www.jensnyderphoto.blogspot.com ) I am running a Trash the Dress contest. Basically, I am trading free sessions and a free 8x10 each for 2 lucky winners. If you don't know what Trash the Dress is, you are missing out!
After you get married, what do you do with the dress? Sell it, donate it, or preserve it usually. So it's either gone, or wrapped in plastic in your basement, just... sitting there. Forever.
Well, instead of that, a lot of women are opting to have personal photosessions in their wedding dresses, creating beautiful works of art. Some women swim in their dresses. Some lay in the sand and let the ocean waves crash over them. Some pose in, on, and around dirty abandoned buildings. The spirit of the session is to get a beautiful portrait of you in your dress without worrying about getting dirty. You don't have to destroy the dress.
But then I thought... what a neat set idea... I wonder if Eirian has access to a wedding dress?
