Okay, so I posted a hasty update this morning cause I was sick of seeing a four-day old entry on here. Things have been crazy, but I have a little time right now, so heres whats been going on:
My darling starguitar arrived on Friday night, which was also my close friend Nicks birthday, so a group of us went to Tank, this great Japanese restaurant and had excessive amounts of yummy food. After that I had a little get together at my house, which ended around, oh, 3 am. After everyone left we had absolutely amazing I-havent-seen-you-in-a-month sex, then I slept for about an hour and went to work.
The next night was my speakeasy party, which turned out really well. Just the right amount of people showed up there was a lot of elbow-rubbing but it wasnt overcrowded. starguitar posted a few pics on his page, and Im going to throw a few more up when I get the chance. Basically the night was spent drinking, listening to swing and jazz music from the 20s and 30s (with Bettie Page videos and The Triplets of Belleville for visuals) and taking lots and lots of pictures. Nearly everybody came dressed in the theme, which ruled.
Since Ive also been working and doing schoolwork non-stop, Im obviously spreading myself a little thin, but Im getting it all done. Tonight Im taking a break, though. We are going to see Dane Cook perform. Im not familiar with his stuff, but several people have said hes original and hilarious, so Im looking forward to that.
As for the rest of the week, tomorrow we may be meeting Tori Amos! She is going to be at Borders on Michigan Ave. signing her new book. Daniel is out getting the tickets as I write this. Thursday night we are probably going to Neo. If any of you Chicagoans feel like coming out, Id love to meet up.
Cheers!
