I guess its been a few weeks since I posted anything of length. A lot of stuff has been going on, but I haven't really had the time to post anything. I got fired from my student worker job at DePaul, which is lame for obvious reasons. I can't say it wasn't my fault; I was late more often than not. But my boss never said anything, so I assumed she didn't care as long as I did my work. But apparently she cared, just not enough to talk to me about it directly. She just went directly to the Operations Manager and told her she wanted me fired. So I went to the OM's office and had a talk with her. Luckily, she really likes me for some reason ( in the past we've had little to no contact) so she offered me a job in the Dean's Suite, as in the Dean of the School of Education. What can I say about it? I've had more challenging work, that's for sure. And the hours are killing me (8:00 to 1:00 most days) and the people I work with seem to be my exact opposite in terms of opinions, taste and almost everything else, but I'm going to do it until I find something better. I'm looking for other work on campus, and I still work at the Peninsula on weekends sometimes. I only have one year of school left, so I guess it could be worse. Sometimes I just want a normal, 9 to 5 day job that I can forget about when I go home.
I did something this week that I've thought about for quite some time. I got a domain. Sometime in the future, I'm not sure when, you will be able to access www.indigozine.com and be connected to my zine, cards, Ephemera Festival and any other projects I'm working on. I was incredibly lucky to find Alan at The Fall of Autumn. He's been a huge help, so I'm passing the word on. If you want insanely cheap web hosting and a domain name, he's your guy. I'm gonna be working with my dear friend Shecky on the design aspect. I think have a fairly good eye for layout and aesthetic design, but I know nothing about web design. Shecky does though, so I think once we put our brains together we will be unstoppable.
Random movie reccomendation: Grandma's Boy. You've never heard of it? That's not surprising, but its in theaters now and when Starguitar and I saw it last week, we laughed so hard that we probably missed half of it. Heres a random quote to illustrate what I mean:
I dont really like techno.
You would if you had robot ears.
Basically, it's about a stoner videogame programmer who gets kicked out of his apartment and has to go live with his grandma. I know, a lot of movies try to hit this mark, but this one really does.
And since I'm in a random mood : Right now I'm reading Thoreau's "Walden" and its fascinating. It's also probably the most challenging work of American Literature I've ever read.
Ok, time to go back to work. Buh-bye!

LOL Thanks. There is a funny story to that pic too. I wasnt originally wearing that. My girl/co-manager spilled coffee on the back of my shirt and she lent me that Tank which really flowed with my tie.
