Last night I spent the night at Starguitar's house. It was one of those unexpected stay-overs, and so I had to go back home early in order to get some clothes and other stuff I needed today. When I got close to the door of my apartment, I could hear this extremely loud static-y sound, like snow on a TV set. When I opened the door, it was deafening. Apparently my stereo has a weird glitch where it suddely switches to AM/FM from AUX (which is how i play my iTunes). It's much louder on AM/FM so I usually turn off the computer and stereo when I leave, but I forgot this time. Anyway - this is the point: When I walked in and heard that, all I could think of was Basil, my poor little kitty, alone all night with this horrible noise. I turned it off and called for him. I finally found him sitting on top of my kitchen cabinets, curled up in a ball and shaking. I grabbed him and hugged him and he starting meowing over and over. I couldn't help it - I started crying uncontrollably and petting him and telling him I was sorry. I felt so horrible. He was okay, though...after a few minutes he stopped shaking and was actually purring, so I knew he was okay, but I can't believe I let that happen! I have no idea why my stereo had been doing that or how to stop it, but I am just going to turn it off every time I leave.
