My house seems to be a favorite spot for the cats in my neighborhood. I can't remember how many different cats there have been over the years. On one particularly rainy night I heard one of them howling to be let in. I sometimes wonder if some of these cats have just been abandoned. I know some of them are feral cats but I also know some of my neighbors have cats that they let outside. So far none have left any treats for me. When I was a kid we had a cat that would bring home its nightly kill and leave it outside the door.

I have a window in my bedroom that the sill is pretty low on. I leave the shade up so my cats can look outside, as cats like to do.The window seems to be a favored viewing place for the local cats too. This morning I was awoken at about 2:30 by one of may cats batting and growling at one of the outdoor cats. Sometimes I'm afraid my cat will break the glass when she lunges at it so hard.This window is how I discovered how popular my house is. Some nights I can hear the cat fights going on in the woods behind my house.

Well, I guess that's the end of my cat tale, or is it tail?
