my landlord is better than your landlord.
i saw him in the parking lot, averted eye contact, and then he pulled up in his car moments later...
started telling me about work they're doing to the building. after a bit of talking i told him i had left a message on his machine earlier and that i hadnt paid rent yet. he just said "that's fine, i know where you live" (hahaha) and then went back into his talk about the work they are doing.
i guess i have two things going for me:
a: somebody, probably a tenant, has been vandalizing the place. so i'm far from the top of his shitlist
b: there's been a for rent sign out there for months. so, why would he give up on somebody who's been paying rent for 3 years, just to have another vacant apartment that is sure to not earn any money.
yeah. still, just eeking by on the short term... gotta stop. but its nice to catch a break once in awhile.

when i called my landlord and left a message telling him i was sorry i hadn't paid rent yet, and i would wednesday (today), he called back to tell me about some program that will pay one month's rent for you on the government if you have a job and just can't make ends meet.
hm... i should have paid attention and kept that info for you...
anyway, my landlord's fucking rad. let's get our landlords together and we can all hug.
