The Adventures of Bridezilla-in-Training continue....
My Beloved reminded me that it's 23 weeks to the Wedding and we have quite a few errands to run in the coming weeks. I never thought I would marry someone who would be so involved in the wedding planning and actually enjoy it!
Two weeks ago we went on our first expedition to put together our gift registry at David Jones, and find stationery for our invitations. We made our appointment with the Bridal Registry Consultant and H was in top Biker Bogan form as the rather stuffy up-market atmosphere of their Flagship department store made him, shall we say, much more cheeky than usual!
We worked our way down the levels from Bedding to Fine China, in our Biker leathers, registry list in hand....collecting bar-codes and H generally wreaking noisy havoc all over the store, like H pretending to hump me on the escalators...hmmmm...I got a little annoyed, but thankfully my Paramour and I could laugh it all off afterwards.
Then we started to argue - now H and I never argue - rather, we discuss differing points of view quite amicably, so it's a bit out of character for us to argue and disagree for a lengthy period. However, when it came to the invitation style, well, H wanted something really simple ("Can't we just email them the invites honey?") I, being the Libran and a totally indecisive Style Queen (and Pre-mental at the same time - what was I thinking?), could not find anything I liked at ALL....Then there were tears. Memories of my first wedding were flooding back, which I knew would happen eventually once we got into the swing of our organisation - My ex-husband was a shit-hot designer and our invitations were stunningly beautiful. I can't design for shit and neither can H. We decided on an idea we liked, worked through how they would come together and then decided to call it a day, and finish up this work in progress the following weekend.
I am pleased to say that not only did we finish our wedding gift registry, we also managed to agree on a simple
and stylish wedding invitation - and cheap too (with some style input from my lovely and talented Art Director at work). Goddess thank you for the Internet and EBay - we have our bonboniere already sorted, and today we found a really cool chick at the local organic market who will be making our cute wedding cupcakes!
So now on to the Wedding Dress...the Gothic Extravaganza work in progress. I have about 8 samples of fabric which I have been collecting all over town this week. I may have finally found the fabric and colour match, and this evening I have a second fitting for the skirt toile. My couturier will make a mock-up toile before we buy and cut the actual fabric, so everything will sit just right.
I was a bit annoyed that I have not lost as much weight as I would like at this point in time (planning for a baby, means I need to shift about another 10 kilos for my health) So, my friendly pharmacist suggested trying the fat pill Xenical for a few months. Despite the disgusting side effects (note to self: do not take pill after an Indian feast!) I'm pleased to report that I lost another 1.2 kilos this fortnight (5kgs in total now) and I'm back on my way to waist definition.
H and I have nicknamed Xenical, the poo poo pills - Yep, Shit yourself svelte...
21 weeks to go to our magical day!
