Gosh - had to get used to the new SG design - is the intro thing about me a generic piece? I must edit as, it makes me sound bloody conceited!
I navigated my first week in my new job well. The people are very warm and friendly. The culture is very relaxed and casual. Everyone has a can do attitude and the environment is very collaborative. What a difference from the other place! I have walked in from Fearless Leader's autocratic stress hell to a creative haven.
It's not overly corporate so I have some adjusting to do - that is winding back the Contessa Super Corporate persona.
My man will be pleased. I am still in full steely corporate la la land mode and can be a bit snippy when I get so focused. My new managers are into team bonding too - so they encourage boozy friday lunches, drinks after work and in two weeks we are having a company ten pin bowlilng night - woo!
It's a very big job, especially since I will be managing four magazines until I can find an account manager to take care of two of them. That is proving rather difficult . We want a self motivated sales person with at least 2-3 years media sales experience - We have had so many CV's that are just wrong, or they want more money than our budget allows. We saw someone who was perfect on paper, but had no warmth or passion, so she did not make the cut. Back to the drawing board and briefing more head hunters...
i am doing a spell today to find just the right person. It's a full moon in Saggi, perfect for finding someone who wants to work in publishing and sales! Who wants to be on my team?
This weekend, my man is working all three days of the long weekend. Poo! Freelance sucks sometimes.
No matter, I am enjoying many an overdue catch up with my gal pals.
Hope you are all having fun people - In three weeks I fly to Melbourne - who is around Thursday 29th?
