When I was a kid my mother got me a book called Hubert Hair Raising Adventure, by Bill Peet. I love the book, funny, with a good moral, well illastrated, and with a well developed plot. Have any of you ever read it, or read it to your children? It was largly out of print for some time, as the author got in trouble for making the police characters in the book, wild boars, and the barbur a baboon. Some found the Pig comparison unmistakeable and felt he was making a racist judgement about Aferican American Barburs. Well all that was Bull Shit, it is back in print, and I just got a copy for my girlfriends sun. I just can't wait give it to him. I hope he loves it as much as I.
