I was sort of reflecting on my musical inspirations and how far I've come as a musican and I couldnt help but laugh a little when I realized how far I've really come. 10 years ago I was strictly a metal kid. Didn't listen anything else. I got influenced to play the guitar by guys like James Hetfield of MetallicA and Dimebag of Pantera (R.I.P), but after a few years of that I got really burnt out of metal and needed a break, or a change from that. Then something strange happened, I decided I wanted to be a well rounded musician. So I put down the electric guitar and metal distortion pedal and picked up an acoustic guitar. I started listening to bands like Bright Eyes and Radiohead and that really opened my eyes to a whole world of music I didnt even know that I could find interesting or inspiring. I'm just so happy I did because I've found so many other bands and types of music that inspire me on a daily basis now. Dont get me wrong I'm still a metal kid, and always will be, but if you were to tell me 10 years ago that I'd be writing and recording music that was something other then metal I would have thought you were nuts.
Cant wait till next Monday to start recording some music with BA at VCC.
Song of the Day: Godsmack "Bad Magick"
"My eyes are opening up.
Your time is running out to make a choice.
What are you gonna do when its gone.
How do you expect to get on with no voice."
