It was an unremarkable event ; nothing more than a chance meeting, like two ship passing in the darkness, 2 strangers traveling down a foggy rain-soak road, an innocent happenstanced glance, but it was enough, because in that moment when our eyes met. I knew..... She would be my salvation and my destruction. The thought both excited me and chilled me to the core. in hindsight think I managed a smile, not the warm welcoming one of a dear friend, but the strained, akward smile of someone who doesn't want their face to betray their true thoughts. I guess it didn't fool her, because She jerked back as if spooked and her steps grew urgent as she sped pass me. I felt myself subconciously speeding up my own pace in the opposite direction, before i realised how futile the effort was.. no matter how far I tried to run, when i finally let down my guard our paths would cross seemingly by coincidence..Fate occasionally had a way of showing you that the thing that you think you wanted was actually the worst thing for you... and when you tossed magic into the mix... sometimes and usually became certainty. It was times like this when he wished he never discovered the truth....
