Salvation doesn't come from Washington D.C.!
I am encouraged that the election almost went entirely the way I voted. This is not common for me. I tend to be a pretty independent voter. Thank you everyone who joined me! ;-)
I just want to remind you all that, even though the election is encouraging for everyone who hates where the present administration is leading the country, the Democrats are still humans and just as fallible as the Republicans. I hope that the President takes this election as a clear rebuke for his war and what he has done to our economy. I hope he wakes up and decides to get us out of Iraq and the imperialism he is pushing around the world. But, I still remember how we looked for salvation to come from Washington DC when Reagan was elected (yes, I was a part of the Rabid Radical Right. I was a Pat Robertson delegate to the Washington State Convention! OH MY GAWD!! What was I thinking?) We were very disappointed. In fact, the way the country went with no compassion for the needy is one of the reasons I even began to question what I believed.
Don't let the change in government make you think the battle is over. We have not yet begun to fight! We need to get back the Judiciary! We also need to get back Habius Corpus. Right now, you have no right to a fair trial. That is scary! We need to make it so that love is honored and hate is devalued. (7 states passed anti-gay marriage bills). We can make a better world to leave our children, but we need to constantly be willing to stand up for the poor, the disenfranchised, the beaten down.

OK, enough for now...(getting off of my soapbox)
