Islam is not the problem, nor is religion.
Following the attack on London where Lee Rigby was burtally murdered publicly in a capital city during the day, a lot of people have been quick to jump in and attack religion. I have met many people from the Islamic faith over my years, none of them gave two shits when I eat a bacon roll next to them or have at any point pushed their views upon me or blown up at a moments notice. The same goes with just about EVERY religion I have come across where no one cares if someone has a different belief...
Do people think that had religion not have existed the two criminals that killed Lee would magically have been law abiding citizens working with the community and doing volunteer work? No, they would not, they are criminals and madmen who would have probably been just as likely to kill while robbing someone. Every continent, country, society, age group and both genders have a minority that commit horrific crimes. We'd just see people killing in the name of Plato instead, it's not the religion that is the problem but rather the individuals inability to understand that different people believe different things.
It might be interesting to note that the cold war, World War II and Falklands war were not exactly about religion and some people believe that the war on terror was really about oil rather than Christians fighting Muslims. To blame people's ideologies is like blaming video games, music and film.
If someone killed someone wearing a scream mask would you blame the Scream franchise or just realise there's something messed up with that individual instead?
If I saw a punk down the street and raped her should we blame Suicide Girls rather than think that I have some psychological problems?

Valid point, and someone the other day was saying that we are too obsessed with social media. Rather than being about connecting with people we live our lives thinking everything needs to be documented online or it does not exist.
