AAAAAARRRGH! I still have no money! well i have 1.30 so it's ok really! Never mind, everything that should be paid has, pretty much, i'm just goddamn bored, i've done all my gig booking, promoter hassling that i need to..... hmmm ... what to talk about?
This is the crap bit of workin in retail, the days off during the week, don't get me wrong there are advantages... you don't have to go shopping surrounded by all the moronic culturally devoid monkeys on saturdays. But the downside is ... no one i know gets the same days off!! i've just realised the severity of this, it may be impossible for me ever to get hammered in the pub at lunchtime with friends!! Nooooooooooooo....... Or to companiably browse the delights of a thursday morning farmers market...... but what i miss most is sundays....
God how i loved sundays, waking up mid morning, staggering bleary eyed, covered in the residue of last nights revelry towards the nearest supplier of coffee, fruit juice and tasty foodness, before retiring to bed, or somewhere more picturesque with the Times and a spliff. Maybe a bit later cooking a big Roast dinner, a few glasses of wine.
God that sounds great! i think i'm off to quit my job!
Well i'm certainly gonna start looking elsewhere, i think you know you're not cut out for retail when you watch people come into your shop and the first thing you think is.... 'What do you want from me NOW!' and the second is a graphic visualisation of what you could do to them with a pick axe!
Oh yeah...... mad old women! you wouldn't think you'd get many in a bike shop, well the ones we do get make up for it by just being mega-mad, One came in on saturday.... "I came in a few month's ago and you had some lovely gloves with sequins on..."
Me: "errrrrrr"
I've had conversations with them about golf clubs, things to put balls in (!) and caddies, i know we're next to a golf shop but honestly the first thing you see is 300 crash helmets!
Anyway this particular crazy bint then proceeded to poke at my bracelets and cuff, asking what it was and why i wore it, now i am professional enough to laugh it off, but thinking about it i'm actually quite offended, why is it ok, just because i'm stood behind a counter to interogate me about my personal stuff and to put your hands on it? Old people these days, no manners, when i were a lad we knew how to respect youngsters!!
Thats it, i've managed to bang on for ages about fuck all, so.... tell me... Where's the best place in the world?
