OZZFEST is cancelled? WTF?
yeah, yeah, ok.. its not like I was going to go anyway. I only realized today how much it means to the music world, as I was reading about it on the 93x radio station's website.
I never knew what it was. Whenever I heard about it over the years, no one really really mentioned Ozzy in connection with it, so I just thought it was something that he started and others continued.. without him... I didn't know he was always there.. I mean, c'mon in Sommerset WI? That town is nothing but a tourist trap.
oh well. The real reason of course is that someone was coming down for it, and would be in town Friday and Saturday. They were going to call me up and we were going to go hunting for locations. locations for what isn't important, has nothing to do with me. What is important, is that since the concert is cancelled until September 10, and the purpose of the hunt was to get it done prior to September... well it could be close if we're still going to do that. I don't know, I kinda expected to hear from them but haven't yet.
If nothing else... Last Monday went to see Sky High. Totally recommend this to people looking for a good family comedy. The basic premise is kids of superheroes (and supervillians) gain "powers" of their own in their teens and then go to superhero high school. "Sky High" School is for all ages, and comic book types will really find the humor in it, but everyone should have fun.
Then I went to see Stealth. Not a bad movie... but wait for the video. The only reason to see it in the theatre is if you like the "rollercoaster" effects that may or may not be present (it could just have been me).
Tomorrow I think I shall see Fantastic Four (I know, I've read the comic adaptation, and they didn't stay with the actual origin of the team, which is why The Hulk really bombed - in addition to the other things wrong with that movie). Then either Charlie and the Chocolate Factory or... War of the Worlds. yes... I have been putting off movies for awhile. The only other movie I recall seeing this year was Star Wars.
Peace

Fantastic Four wasn't all that great. They basically turn the most diabolical, megalomaniacal super villain into a nuisance. BAH! I wasn't all that impressed with Charlie & the Chocolate Factory, either. I'd suggest War of the World. Apocalypstic movies make my heart soooooaar.
plus its effort.
as for ozzfest.. get in the know, daddio
