Damn, SG! Once again, it's been too long. I'm a terrible blogger, I know. Life just has a way of demanding every second of your time (especially when you're in charge of a fledgling online store...more about that later).
So...so much has happened since my last post that it's gonna be hard to write it all down in here. I might have to split it into two posts...I'm on my break at work...which ironically is what I'll be writing about first:
Work, Stress, and Furry Goodness:
As I think I've mentioned before, I'm the web guy for my familiy's fabric store in the SF mission, and my time has always been a touch cramped, what with updating the facebook, twitter, web site, flikr, designing and sending out mailing campaigns, designing and managing ad campaigns, printing out all the store's signage, as well as getting ready for the launch of our online store (taking hundreds of pictures, designing, coding, editing, blah, blah blah...)
Well, not long after I wrote my last blog, I finally launched said site (check it out - califabrics.com, and let me know what you think), and since then I've been busy as fuck. I'm taking dozens of pictures, filling out and updating databases, adding products, tweaking and retweaking little things on the site, as well as filling orders now (so far we've almost brought in $1000...more that I had expected, considering we just started and only have a few different varieties of items listed...mostly sequin-y things, ruffly fabrics, and all sorts of furry goodness). Life's crazy sometimes, ya know?
I'll probably write more about the site and my feelings about running it sometime. I'm not gonna lie, it's a been a bit stressful and overwhelming sometimes. I'm literally the only person working on/for the site. Anywat, I think I've talked about that enough for one blog... on to the other stuff
Warped Shit
Warped Tour was great this year, as always. My favorite bands were definitely August Burns Red & A Skylit Drive. I got a kick ass warped tee, which I'd model for you all if it weren't in the laundry... maybe next time . I got to chat with some officers for drinking in the parking lot...he made me dump out the rest of my mikes harder :-O... But still, over all great day. Not the BEST year of warped tour... but definitely a good one .
Oh shit, my break is over. Back to work. Come back later to read about my complete awe at this palace of cheap goodness that we call Ikea, relationship shit., failed attempts to limit my caffeine intake, and new addictions...
Until then, I am yours truly,
Ron C
